Summer days have gone

and there is a cooler breeze that blows through the woods and
across the prairie.  Some days are still quite hot, but the
sun seems to be a bit more gentle as it beams down. The
flowers seems have gotten a refreshed spurt of energy since the relief of
rain and cooler temps have come and have started to bloom once again.
In the late afternoon and all through the night, the moonflower
bloom their large white trumpet flowers...their fragrance drifts on the breeze.
By mid morning, these lovely flowers will have faded away
Deer are coming up to eat the wild bird grain.....even in the
early morning. If you look at the arrow on the photo, you can see a
third deer behind the tree.
They are such pretty creatures!
I took this photo of the sunset on the first day of fall........
the day closed with the perfect autumn colors.
The night temperature is perfect for star gazing.......
and moon gazing.
Fall.......I am so glad you are here!
Wishing you all happy and pleasant fall days!

It's no secret...I'm a big fan of Fall. The sunny days are softer. They start out chilly but by afternoon I take my sweater off ( only to put it right back on by 5 PM.) We've had some much-needed rain and the water hoses have been emptied and hung up until next year. Zinnias are looking bedraggled but my 3 Dahlias are still blooming. Even a late rose.
Your Moonflower looks beautiful. And the deer....OH my, they are lovely.
Happy October, GM

We are still having Summertime temps even though the trees are starting to turn colors. Janice

We are looking forward to cooler temperatures by weeks end; may even need an extra cover on the bed. I love your moon flowers.

This time of year I savor the sight of flowers. Our last nod to summer, even as the cooler days and nights are very welcome.

I do so love the Fall. Yes the deer are very pretty creatures, and I don't stay angry with them long when they eat the Sunflowers, and use my garden as a buffet. I'm the only gig for miles here in the hood, and they have babies to feed. Beautiful sunset and moon, it was particularly lovely the other night shimmery and silver shadows cast down, even in the hood it is lovely.

So, so pretty...the deer, the sunset, the moon; really lovely. And the moon flowers...what a wonderful idea to add to my own garden...someone I read about had an all white flowerbed; hmmm, maybe next spring? My favorite season is here, and I'm looking forward to cooler days and nights.

We have deer in our yard too but mostly the younger ones. I haven't seen any with antlers yet. They gorged all summer long on my flowers and veggies.

I love your shot of the moon in your backyard scenery. Such a great shot.

We've been having such thick fog evey morning but by noon it all dissipates. It makes driving a bit hazardous. The trees are changing colors early this year it seems. It must be that the trees have been stressed with an overabundance of rain most every day all summer. We are finally getting some sun for a change.

Take care and enjoy the beauty of the season.
Hugs
Julia

I so agree my dear Kathleen! It has been a brutal summer and we are wearying for cooler weather and rain. We've had rain here and we are so thankful! Our son sends pictures of deer he sees where he lives. They ARE so pretty, but I'm glad I don't have to deal with them, too!

I love Fall too. It's quite colorful here even though we aren't at peak color yet. There's lots of reds and oranges-it's wonderful. I miss my birds though. The hummers went a week ago. Our stray ones have stopped coming by. But I can dream of next spring!

We have been enjoying cooler nights too and sleeping with the bedroom windows open. The deer in your yard are so pretty. I will have to remember and show my husband. Deer hunting season has started here. We see lots of does and lots of fawns but never a buck. He want believe how the bucks stand in your yard! That is a beautiful sunset picture.

I think you live close to Snyder.
Did you get any winds recently?
We left the morning before the winds came through.

Kathleen, I am also glad that autumn has arrived and know you are certainly happy for cooler days. Nice to see the deer wandering through your yard. Those moonflowers were amazingly beautiful even if the blooms are short-lived. I am now catching up on blog reading after our 16 day trip to the UK.

I also had a lot of fun photographing this magnificent moon...
your deer are remarkable and I love the colors of fall.
We have a late foliage change this year... it's just now underway and it's just wonderful. I take a lot of walks through the forest. It's pure enjoyment.
A hug and happy greeting to you from Viola
