I walked around the property this early morning

taking photos of the changing scenery of these late summer days.....although there is still much green in the trees and prairie,
I take a closer look......and  it seems that  everything knows ...summer will soon end.
The flowers that once were cheery and bright in the garden, now
take on a different beauty of September to come.
Anything that has been growing this summer  has taken on a darker color.

The "used to be" late evenings ....with the sun taking it's time to color the sky in vibrant hues as it sets, are getting shorter as dark greets us much earlier.

There is a coolness in the early morning.......welcoming me to take longer, slower walks.........
by noon the raging heat, reminding me it is still summer,  quickly takes over for the rest of the day.
For many, vacation time is over, school has started back up, and everyone
settles back into the routine of their daily lives.
This summer , as hot and furious it seemed to be for most of us,
will soon be bidding us farewell and the breeze of autumn will soon
come whispering to us, promising cool days with a beauty in it's arrival.
Here's wishing you fun and happy moments in these last summer days.

The purple on that cactus...is that flowers or the fruit? I have never seen a cactus so very interesting. Yes the days are getting shorter for sure. Even the leaves are starting to turn here. Janice

Loved your walk, and seeing the plants and flowers start to fold their blossoms for the coming winter. Here, my spring bulbs are shooting up through the warmer earth, the grass is green, and trees have buds. Your photos were beautiful.

What an amazing evening sky. You got a great photo.
Yes, the days definitely seem shorter now. We had some rain finally, today, but not nearly enough. The cool temperatures were very welcome. GM

I'm not sure my comment actually went through. I got a "error" message. I'll check back later and see. GM

Yes, summer is coming to an end and it's time to prepare for fall.

The cactus seed pods are very interesting. Take care.

Hugs, Julia

There are autumn signs here as well. The tourists with children are gone or soon will be. Autumn is nigh.

Enjoyed your post this morning and here's hoping that the daytime heat dies down soon. Beautiful sunset! Linda

Such a beautiful place you live in! Autumn is indeed on the way. We see signs of it every day now.

What a beautiful sunset capture you captured, Kathleen. While I knew it was taken at the day’s end when it might be cooler, the bibrant colors reminded me of the daytime heat. I hope that fall brings some coolness to the daytime.

Each season has it's own beauty...even the summertime heat (which is not my favorite!) We had wonderful mornings in the 40's and days in the 60's, but now they say it's back to the 90's this coming week...summer telling us it's not over yet!
