(An old door on our well house)
We need to learn to praise the Lord as much for a closed door as we do an open door. The reason God closes doors is because He has not prepared anything over there for us. If he didn't close the wrong door, we would never find the right door.
God directs our path through the closing and opening of doors. Once a door closes, it forces you to change your course. Another door closes, it forces you to change your course again. Then, finally, you find the open door and you walk right into your blessing.
Knock and It Shall Be Opened Unto You
Matthew 7:7
My hope for you is that you find your blessing behind the door you come upon along your journey in life.

A beautiful message and what a pretty old door photo. Thank you and God bless.
What a lovely post, thank you for my devotional tonight. Love the picture too.
Good post! God recently closed a door on a property we were wanting. We know now that it was not a good investment for us no matter how bad we wanted it to be. Glad he closes doors and I cannot wrench them open.
We live in our house because God closed the door on the house we thought we wanted. I'm so glad He did! This one is much better. Our Father always knows best. Thanks for a good lesson! Hugs, Elaine
Well, sometimes I don't WANT a door closed (can you hear the tantrum in this voice?)!! Thanks for reminding me that our heavenly Father does, indeed, know best. If you check out my most recent post, you will see that I have been throwing quite a faith tantrum lately and that I needed to hear this from you!! Thanks.
we normally ask in our prayers that the Father CLOSE any doors we are not to open - firmly close 'em because He knows what contrary children we can be. Lovely post - and all God's people say - AMEN
Hi there! I popped over from A Joyful Chaos - what a cute blog!! I love reading about your little life in the country. Your pictures are adorable, too. Can't wait to read more ~
There is such a wonderful message here Kathleen...we need to remember this....the Lord has a reason for everything...hugs, Linda
Beautiful reminder, Kathleen... the Father does know what's best, although it's hard for us to see right away. Thanks for sharing this.
Thought provoking!
Amen!

Wonderful wonderful post! I really needed that! Doors keep closing on me...one has to open soon!
I so agree with your post. Sometimes it's hard to believe that God might deny us something that we see as good (like winning the lotto for example). But He really does know what we need and what's best for us in the long run. You said it so beautifully.
Patricia :o)
PS: Love the door to your well. Wow!
Kathleen,
Thank you so much for that post...
Just what I needed to hear!
Just stopping by to say hello.
Wonderful message.
Blessings
Patty
Wonderful post! Sometimes, we it's hard to be thankful for that closed door, because we are so selfish. Always wanting our wants instead of putting Him first.
Hi Kathleen~ The perfect post for me to come across today! Thank you! ~Mandy (I love that old door knob on your well house!!)
Catching up on my blog reading...thanks for the message. I needed that one.
Pat
I really needed to read this today! I'm looking for the open door right now!
Kathleen,
Thank you very much for this uplifting posting about God closing doors. I'm so glad He has closed doors in my life, or I would have made some big mistakes. It's always best to trust the Lord. I love your blog and always feel uplifted when I read your postings. Have a blessed weekend. Brenda.
Closed door are important to notice! Thank you for the verse and your gentle expression of faith!
What a wonderful devotional, Miss Kathleen!
That really is a beautiful picture, as well ...
You asked if I've seen The Egg & I.
Yes, I have - many times. I've been blessed to have been able to introduce it to hubby and children, too! We have such fun watching it! It was based on a book - I wonder if it's a good read? You never know how much movies stray from the book, but I'll bet it's pretty close?!?
Many Blessings,
Julie
Very nice post, Kathleen. That was a good one to give us all something to think about.
