Fresh white

The first Freesia bud has burst open in a lovely color of.........
White.
White looks wonderful in a garden of flowers, especially if there is a lot of the color, however, I was hoping for a more cheery color like pink or yellow.
Listen to me!......... I should be grateful that they are blooming! I am actually.{: I have more that are about to bloom. I placed these in planting containers, as I earlier explained, to experiment. After the plant goes to rest, I can label the bulb knowing what color it is and be able to design the garden, or tell anyone who might purchase the plants next year what color it is. Rain came to us yesterday, which means I did not get all of my weeding done, however, the ground will now be soft and easier to work in, so back to the grounds tomorrow to finish off the weeds. Today, I will work with my needle and thread....... maybe start appreciating the white floss I have. {:

I know what you mean by color... but your white is very pretty too!!

It seems like it's been raining nonstop here. My garden is more like a weed garden than a vegetable garden!!

Pretty freesia! Don't you just love the fragrance? What a very clever idea to start them in pots so you can i.d. the color. Next time I receive a paper bag full of bulbs, I'm going to try that!

Love your blog! Chris

It is funny but I love white flowers(oh let's be honest - I love flowers!) - freesia smell so wonderful and your posting about white made me remember how I loved my moon vines a few years ago - thanks for jogging the brain!

Pretty flower-maybe the others will be yellow. My mom ties a piece of yarn around the plant that matches the color of the plant to help her remember.

Very pretty---but then,I think flowers of any color are beautiful! :D It will be good to know what you have so you can arrange bulbs in the color scheme you want to have.

Awesome - and I agree on the color thoughts ... sometimes. I think monochrome beds and gardens are pretty neat too. Freesia is such an awesome scent - one of my favorites. I haven't gotten to flowers up here in the north yet - you're way ahead of me with those starter pots!
