I look forward to taking a walk each day especially now that the weather has gotten warmer and everything has come to life.
I am greeted by the family of barn swallows who come to stay in the same nest and hatch out a new family each year that we have been here. How sweet the babies are!
I am delighted to see that another freesia has bloomed and this time it is in a cheery color of orange and yellow.
This spider has been guarding my flowers for the past few weeks. He is as used to me as I am of him. Just like flowers, I am drawn to the intricate design that spiders, wasps, and other insects have on them. Their jewel like colors are amazing!
My attention is soon directed to the sound of Sophie growling and barking. She has found a beautiful corn snake sunning in the grass. Don't worry, I know which snakes to not pick up. (Although I have been popped on the hand by a coach whip.) Even though they are not venomous, they will still bite. I had to show this colorful one to my sweetie.

Isn't he beautiful? I can just imagine a bead necklace in black and red, with silver spacings. Can't you? Click on the picture to really see his pretty colors.

Looks like you had a fabulous walk! (Although the snake would've freaked me out! :) )
Awesome pictures! The barn swallows are my favorite! So cool. I could do without the snake, but I probably need to educate myself on that. Perhaps it's that little bit of city still hanging on. Love the kitty pic too! That's one content cat.
I like to look at snakes but I don't pick them up lol. Remember the little bug that I tried to save for your sake? lol. The flowers are beautiful! I have to come out one of these days, take a walk with you and sit on your porch. Hey, wait, I have a pickup until Friday! CAll me lol. Stacey
Walks around our place give me so many chances to say "wow" - anyone who doesn't know the Creator can begin to understand Him by viewing the creations. I am not terrified of snakes but around here we have to be a bit careful - copperheads look too much like some of the regular rodent killers. My trusty barn cat Moe is a good snake controller.
Love the colors in the snake - painted with "The Almighty Brush!"
Beautiful pictures, Kathleen! I, too, see a pretty color combination in the snake.
I have Arachnaphobia, so I squealed like a pig when the spider picture came up! LOL
I thought you would get a laugh over that!
Great pictures-love the snake.
Wonderful photos, Kathleen! Thanks so much for sharing your walk with us. You're braver than I to pick up that snake, poisonous or not!
Eeieiyiyeiyiiii.........
snakes!!!!! I don't like spiders and snakes (are you hearing that song, too?!?!)
I'm doing the "shivers" right now!
Everything else on your walk was beautiful, though!
Blessings,
Julie
