a small road trip to Fredericksburg, TX.
We walked around for a few hours at the trade days looking at
so many wonderful things.
where zinnia gardens grew in acre after acre.
in every color imaginable........I felt I had died and gone to heaven.
I'm talking about Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg.
I order my seeds from them every year and am so delighted I finally got
to visit them. They have more than zinnia seed.......they have all of the native wildflower
seed that grows in TX and pretty much everywhere else, along with bluebonnet and cosmos.
It was a wonderful.....quick getaway. Just a couple of days filled with
lovely countryside views.
Here at home, the moonflower is in heavy bloom
and the chrysanthemum is showing off it's autumn colors.
These October days are pleasant and most welcomed. I want them to
stay around for more than 31 days.
Tell me.......what is growing or blooming in your area?
I would love to hear!

The zinnias are lovely! What a great trip. Love the photos!
Oh that looks wonderful – I see so many Antiques that look amazing! it’s great to have a getaway like that – and the flowers – wow, that must’ve been incredible to see in person.
I so could use a getaway like that...and this is just the type of thing I would like. I would love looking at all the stuff and the flowers!
I can't imagine standing in a garden/field of zinnias in such lovely colours. Mine are still blooming but are beginning to look tired. I've cut dried up heads for next years seeds. Rudbeckias are providing the most colour in the garden.
I like the picture of the old abandoned cabin.
That looks like a beautiful get-away. It is Spring here, and spring bulbs are rampant. Which is lovely.
How fun to visit such a wonderful place. Seeing those zinnias would have been worth the trip in itself for me. My BIL lives in Texas and does trade days. Not sure if it is in this town though. He makes birdhouses. Janice
How wonderful, what a great getaway. I can see so many of those cool antiques hanging out in your oh-so-pretty gardens. And zinnias!!
What a beautiful flower garden... and I love the wildflowers too :-))
In my case the autumn chrisanthemum blooms in many colors and the wonderful marigold in orange and yellow as well as a few yellow poppies... and the last rose shines from the rose bush.
Viola sends you kind regards
What wonderful getaway. I love the fields of flowers.
What a fun trip. I would have loved the trade show. The flowers are all so outstanding. Love your moonflower. I would like to try and grow one. Are they hard to start? Thanks for sharing.
