Here in Texas the February days have been up to 86 degrees. The Italian Jasmine
is glimmering in the sunshine and is full of buzzing honey bees.
One day we got a large rain . Along came the same coyote that I have shown to you
in previous posts. It looks pretty wet this day. There is a large section of woods that surround our home and for years ,I have taken the kitchen scraps out to the woods. I no longer have chickens to eat the scraps.
The coyotes and the raccoons enjoy this feast. I have noticed now,
when I bang the scrap bucket, in just a few moments, the coyote has shown up to
eat. If I dare say hello ......it runs away. It is good that it is scared of me.
This morning we had two unusual visitors to the feed and water spot. I am braver to greet a pack of wild coyote compared to these two wild hogs. They have razor teeth, courage, and extremely angry attitudes. They can be very dangerous.
I let them hang around just long enough to get a few good photos then I yelled at them
very loudly and thankfully they ran away. I hope they don't come back for another visit, but now that they have found water and feed, they will more than likely stop by again.
While these days are almost like days of summer.......we who live in this area know that in a blink of an eye, Texas can get a big snow. We don't dare plant anything at this time because of this unpredictable weather.

We had a series of scorching days, at least for our place in NZ. Then some torrential rain and hail. Then we also had a visitor who has stayed. A stray grey cat. so friendly, and after some 10 days or so, is sleeping on my kitchen chair each night. As always, I didn't want another cat, but as first he was starving, and I could feel every part of his backbone. Who knows what the next weeks will bring. Hope you don't get snow and those other wild animals stay away. Golden flowers, always a bright spot, and years ago a quilting tutor told me, You need some yellow to make it "ZING "
I live by the forest and o have deers, foxes and rabbits in our back yard and many birds I like to see wild animals. We also have hedgehogs in the garden.

Oh Yes. I'd be very wary of those wild pigs too. It must be so interesting to see the wildlife though.
The sun shone today and had real warmth but it's too early in the season to depend on it staying pleasant. Who knows what next week will bring?
Great photos! I remember living in Houston and celebrating Christmas in the 80s. That's Texas for you! I'm farther east now, so it doesn't get that warm this time of year, but our February has been lovely. Very hard not to lulled into planting too early. I did plant my snow peas though.
Oh my goodness! Those pigs are amazing. I would be scared of them for sure. Your coyote looks very healthy. I watched a beautiful red fox walk around our house this week. He couldn't see me so I got to watch him a long time. He was magnificent-long bushy tail and a beautiful face. Our snow has melted. We are having 40 degree weather and into the fifties next week. Tomorrow it will be 20 degrees. We have been up and down in temps all winter.
Oh my goodness, you have tamed a coyote. To me, he looks prettier than most I've seen. The wild pigs would scare me too. The most unusual animal we've seen lately is a large bobcat. Unfortunately, it was dead. Had been hit with a car just a few feet from our path. Our neighbor stopped shortly after it happened and pulled it from the road. It was not messed up but. Made me really sad. Enjoyed your post.
Coyotes don't scare me but I think those pigs would. Great photos!
I thought having a coyote come close was bad enough, but wild hogs now too. Youzers. Janice
Oh lordy, I'd run in the house, lock the door and probably never come out if I ran into one of those wild hogs.
We still have snow, and it is supposed to snow again on Tuesday. I don't mind the coyotes, but those hogs could cause damage if they keep around.
My goodness, what photos did you take... I think I'd be scared of the coyote and the wild boars so close by.
We have wolves in the woods, but I haven't seen or heard of them yet. I have already seen wild boars, once in the national park at full speed - they have incredible force.
We had sunshine today and I was in the forest, now it's getting dark outside.
In the garden I only have the birds in the birdhouse, which I am always very happy about.

Oh, Kathleen, those are some scary visitors! But isn't it wonderful to feel spring in the air! I am trying to get our garden planted.
Since we now live in an 5th floor apt, we do not have land visitors, but water ones. Our view overlooks the Nashua River and we see Canada geese, Mallards and gulls on a daily basis. In summer, there are also a couple of great blue herons and an occasional egret. We have not had any snow recently and our temps will be in the 50s with rain next week. You are having a heat wave by comparison, Kathleen.
