Fresh and cooling rain

has come several times......leaving us with much needed moisture,
a fresh fragrance, and lovely rainbow afternoons.

As much as you have read about my dislike for the cactus
that is trying to take over the acreage......

this time of year......I have to say.......I enjoy
it's unique beauty.

Cactus rose blossoms in the prettiest colors of soft yellow,

peachy orange,

and vibrant yellow, cover each thorned paddle and are
 filled with busy, buzzing, bees.

These past few days, I have kept my hands busy making
miniature decor for my miniature kitchen scene.
I have to say........I can get completely lost in making
miniature things!

I want to invite you over to my " My Country Kitchen"
blog to share a wonderful cool and delicious recipe with you.
This is such a wonderful dessert/fruit salad for those hot days of summer
and for get togethers.  It would be wonderful for this Memorial Day
weekend!   Just click onto the link below
for this wonderful recipe!
Have a safe Memorial Day Weekend.

I always think it's so special to see a double rainbow. Beautiful!! And the flowers are out of this world with splendor.

We have a cactus like that, my husband got it from his aunts yard here in Michigan. It's still going after 25 years, and I agree the flowers are stunning, though those little pickers are brutal! I love rainbows, God's covenant. Beautiful picture. On my blog, I painted the picture, the poem was a song my mother and sister sang to us kids. Have a wonderful Memorial Day!

The double rainbow sure is beautiful.
Such pretty flowers on the cactus. I wonder how long the blooms last?
Love the miniature kitchen!

Those cactus blooms are really so pretty, Kathleen, but I do know what a struggle it has been to trim those plants. The dessert looks so refreshing too especially with summer nearly here...or maybe already arrived for you in TX.

What beautiful blooms on your Cactus plants. I can see they're spreading a lot!!
It's nice that you can work on your miniatures when it's just too hot outside. I have many miniatures but I've either bought them or my oldest daughter has made them. She has so much talent ( and I don't). I must look for a Canadian business that sells miniatures and treat myself to something new.

Those cactus roses are gorgeous! I know some people enjoy eating cactus. I've not been that brave yet!
Love your dollhouse. It is so sweet and so pretty.
I'll have to go now and see that peach gelatin recipe. I made your baked spaghetti last week. It's one of our favorites and we hadn't had it in a long time.

I like your cactus flowers, although they may be invasive there. I will need to make the salad/dessert. Looks good for a warm weekend this summer. Phil

How did I miss this? I'm sorry!

Yes, the cactus blooms are beautiful! I remember back in my 'younger' days someone told me when I received a potted one 'only water when it rains in Texas'. LOL

Now, I'm headed to your recipes! I suppose with all this 'staying home' I've decided to try and learn how to cook at nearly 80 years old. :)
