There always seems to be a rainbow..........

..arching it's way over the grounds after a welcoming rain.

It all starts with an intense hot and muggy day......clouds that look like meringue on a pie
start gathering

some look as soft and cotton candy

and some start growling and begin to look menacing

Some look like a cave man drawing........don't you think??

and some have the most amazing color

and then............they break and the ground opens it arms to the moisture.

After the rain is gone.........wild birds of every color

and shape come to quench their thirst

and to romp around in the cool wet grass.
From the Road Runner

to the groups of quail

and even the often reclusive badger comes for refreshment.

And the rainbow lingers a little while longer.

How about you? How has the weather been treating you this season?
Have you been too close to the terrible fires that are raging?
or are you getting too much rain?........to much heat?
Or is there a rainbow to lift your spirits?
I would love to hear!

What a beautiful post! The weather here this summer has been up and down, to chilly to hot and muggy. I have seen several beautiful rainbows so far this year, a constant and beautiful reminder of God's covenant with us to never flood the earth again.

Beautiful photos, Kathleen. I love the cave man drawings in the clouds. I always enjoy seeing what creatures are visiting you there too. We had way too much rain early in the summer and not enough the last couple of weeks. (There's no pleasing some people-right? haha!) I hope you have a nice weekend.

Hello Kathleen,

I love your cloud photo's. Rain is always welcome the life that comes with it is amazing. Such a cute photo of the Badger. It is supposed to rain a bit today sometime but I hope not as we are having a big day at the local Rec Centre tonight with all the Balloons from the National Championships which are being held in town.

Happy days.
Bev.

Isn't it amazing and wondrous how the simple offering of fresh water brings so much wildlife to your place. Wow, I've never seen a badger outside a zoo and you have one drinking water in your yard ! So many beautiful birds too.

Clouds seem to be ever changing art , right there in the sky for all to see. Beautiful.

BTW, the weather is too dry here and I miss the rain ~

Beautiful photos, I especially enjoyed the badger! Here in southern Missouri, August has brought plenty of rain. It's still so green and lush. I am looking forward to the crisp cool fall weather!

I love reading your blog! Beautifully written, beautiful photos! Seems you have an endless variety of critters around your home. Love the little owl! Poor Sophie! Hope she's learned to leave that skunk alone.

I haven't seen a rainbow which makes me happy to see yours! :)

We've been deluged with rain the past weeks; so wish it could be less here and more where it's really needed; the drought, the fires so sad.

Your photos are wonderful, thank you so much for sharing.

Have a beautiful day.

Very nice post, Kathleen! Aren't the clouds lovely! We had almost too much rain in the spring and now we hope for showers. The grass has remained a beautiful shade of green all summer ~ quite a contrast to the summer of 2012 when we made very little hay, the pond went dry, and we had to supplement the cattle with grain and water in troughs. It's nice to see quail again; they were plentiful here years ago but we rarely see any now.

Wow! I didn't know you had badgers! I just love those road runners-so cute!!! And the quail too..We are going through a hot and drier spell now. There have been lots of cool, low humidity days though. Overall, it's been a lovely summer. But I do look forward to fall, and all the lovely colors of the trees...

What a lovely series of photos! I love this. This makes me wish it would rain where I am in California and quench the thirst of our drought-stricken land. The birdies and local wildlife, as well as our plants and people, would be so happy for rain like what you show here.

Dear Kathleen, I have been viewing your posts for a few months and am always blessed by all you share. The 'cave man' drawings are truly something, the cloud on the right looks like a horse. I wonder if you or anyone can see it too. The rainbow always speaks God to me, in an awe way. Thanks for sharing.

I love your descriptions of the clouds! And, I love all the animals that come for their little drink of water. Our summer has been a little crazy, first dry, then lots and lots of rain that we thought would never end, then another dry spell. It is now very nice and seems like fall. I also love rainbows and take pics of them when I can.
