Something to crow about!

As some of you may remember, my son, Joseph, headed to Naval boot camp in mid January. He just called me today to tell me that he has passed his battle stations and is now officially a sailor! He will graduate this Friday! We are so proud of him!
Thank you for all of your prayers!

Way to go Joseph. Many don't realize that boot camp is TOUGH, and many don't make it through. Maybe he will be lucky and get stationed in San Diego, like my husband was. Then you could visit, and we could zip around San Diego. Oh the places I could show you;-)

blessings, jilly

Kathleen, I know you're proud of your boy! that's quite an accomplishment to be sure. My nephew's in the Navy, too, he's been in the Persian Gulf on the USS Stennis. Just got back to Lemore, CA, for a break. He's been in the Navy for 3 years. And he absolutely loves it - it was great for him - he loves the discipline and the feeling of pride that he has in doing a great job! congrats to your boy and to you and your family, Kathleen!

How wonderful, Kathleen! I know how proud you must be!

I hope you don't mind, but I have nominated you for the Liebster blog award. If you wish to pass it on to five others, please do. You need to post the blog award picture on your blog, link back to me when you tell about winning, and then nominate 5 new people (giving their links) and let them know. You may not wish to participate...I normally do not accept awards, myself, but I was given the award by a new blogger friend, and thought it would be a nice way to honor some of my favorite people as well.

I know you are so proud of your Joseph! I applaud him and his willingness to serve our country. I have a sailor, too, in his 16th year of service - 11 of those in the Marines. So I can identify with your pride. I wish Joseph the best!

You have every reason to be very proud. Boot camp is tough and does make a boy become a man in a short time. I remember when my #7 son went in the Army and he told me boot camp would be a snap because he would just pretend it was me yelling at him (smile). Can't wait to see pictures :)
Hugs
Nancy

How very proud you must be! It is quite an accomplishment for him -- and also for you (to know that you have such a fine young man)! Be sure to thank him for his willingness to serve and to protect us and our freedom. Words cannot express how indebted I feel to Joseph and all those who serve with him!

Congratulations to Joseph! That is an accomplishment, and definitely something of which to be proud. I pray for our servicemen and women often. They are truly the best and the brightest and so often under-appreciated.
