Sophie's Walk

Sophie would like to thank you all for your support in getting me to take her for a walk......
She enjoyed it very much! We stopped to smell the flowers...
and as always, we met some very interesting creatures along the way. This bug looks like it is wearing a cowhide coat..doesn't it?

This beautiful creature visited for a quick instant and then it was gone to where butterflies go....

but I tried to capture it....... this way..........you can learn more by visiting my embroidery blog
http://yesteryearembroideries.blogspot.com

We visited the garden...where among the golden orange pumpkins......I have a GREEN one growing! I cannot believe it I have researched and only found a little about them, but still not sure how, out of the pumpkin seeds I planted, this one has turned this color. Have any of you seen or experienced this before?? I would love the hear.

We also picked peas and squash to go with supper...

and had a sweet juicy cantaloupe fresh from the garden for dessert.

Do any of you have any weird "quirks"?? I have many.....one of them I talk about on my cooking blog....http://countrykitchenkat.blogspot.com
Also there is a wonderful recipe waiting to go along with one of your Mexican dishes!
Speaking of quirks.......what is one of yours???? I would love to hear!

I've never seen or heard of a green pumpkin. How strange! Glad Sophie enjoyed her walk and sniffing the pretty flowers.

I'm glad Sophie finally got her walk lol. Jeff has a bug that he caught in Ryan's room and put in a little plastic container. He's been searching the internet trying to find out what it is lol.

Your garden produce looks wonderful! Our little garden only has field peas producing right now, but we did get a really nice rain today! Yay! I'm glad Sophie got her walk. We have to keep those doggies happy.

What a great post - and that is one crazy looking bug!! Let's see, quirky...I hate to sound all Joan Crawford, but I really do hate wire hangers. Of course I don't go ballistic but whenever we get them from the cleaners, I just take them back - and they're thrilled to get them so we're both happy! Toilet paper has to come over the top, too. I have to reach farther when it's underneath. ☺

Quirks, I don't have quirks.....I don't think so anyway. But like your other commenters, I do not like plastic dishes or mugs, and the toilet paper SHOULD come over the top of the roll, anyone with any sense knows that!

The real and the embroidered butterfly are beautiful and one is the handiwork of God, the other the handiwork of one made by God. I enjoy your walks, and please let us know if anyone identifies that stunning bug.

thanks for taking me and sophie on that walk, love the bug. i have so many quirks. one of them would be: i am a putterer. i can stay busy all the day long and not really accomplish much, but i was busy from dawn til dusk, so if anyone needs a putterer, i am for hire!

Not at all in agreement that reading cookbooks is a quirk - I find it relaxing and entertaining - doesn't everyone? LOL - nice walk with Sophie she is a good walking companion. Interesting bug - and your rendition of the butterfly is lovely. I thought for a few moments about trying your tortilla recipe and then rememberef - losing weight does not mean having a couple of dozen tasty fresh tortillas in the house! LOL

Kathleen,
Sophie is a cute dog and I know she enjoyed her walk and liked smelling the pretty zinnias. I wonder if the green pumpkin will turn orange later this fall. Your vegetables looked so good. I love cantaloupes. That butterfly photo was beautiful. The butterfly you have embroidered is fabulous. You are a very talented person.

Great pictures from your walk with Sophie! I am jealous of your squash, ours has been dead for some time now.

Here's one of my quirks-If I'm planning a trip, I have to plan every little detail and do as much research as possible before deciding to book. I overdo this a lot, lol!

Love the photo of Sophie among my favorite flowers!

That bug just needs a cowboy hat and boots.

And I have way too many quirks to list!

Hi Kathleen,
It's always so fun when you take us along for a walk and we get to see what's going on in your garden. The bug does look like he's wearing a cowhide coat. I didn't think he was very cute until you said that. Then it changed my whole perspective.
Blessings,
Patricia :o)

Sophie looks very happy- I'm glad she got you out of the house for a while. *wink*
I have so many quirks I can't count them all!! Hubby calls me "Rain Man" all the time! LOL
