One path done!

The weekend flew by quickly and I did not get every thing accomplished that I had hoped to. However, I did manage to get the small path to my greenhouse door finished!
There is a favorite lake that my sweetie and I used to take our children to for camping trips when they were very young. The rocks there are a mixture of clay and I am not sure what else.{: However, I have always loved these colorful rocks. As you can see, they have a red and white pattern that reminds me of the western cowhide. While we still lived in town, we gathered some of these rocks to take home. I had an idea for a patio spot and flower bed. They worked wonderful. I still had a few left over and brought them out here when we moved.

Here is the path to the doorway. It will look more settled in as time and wear goes over it. I love the texture and the colors. Some of the rocks have little "potholes" where water has dripped on them over the years. The colors will be more vibrant as the dirt gets replaced with the color of green. I still need to get the path that leads around the greenhouse done. I am hoping to work the rest of this week on that!

I think I am on a country blog bender - I came across your blog through Fraker Farm, where I arrived through Hidden Haven. I really like your blog, and it's all about my favorite subjects! I've been spending some time fussing with the outside of our old place, so I really appreciated the recent posts about the rock path and beds. Anyhow. Just wanted to drop you a comment and let you know I really appreciated the blog! I'll be sure to note the link and stop in often!

The walkway looks terrific! I think it looks so neat to make a walkway out of stones... are you going to plant a little moss or something in between? I can't wait to see what you do with the path around the greenhouse.
I have to figure out what kind of path to make going to my new little shed- I'm walking around in MUD right now. :(

Don't you just love a path? I believe they are one of the most magical things in a garden. Yours is just delightful. I can't wait to see it with the ground cover.

We are still using mats as our path to our home. I sure hope this year I can create a path as lovely as yours to welcome friends to my door!

Blessings,
Lea
