Thanksgiving was a wonderful time for us.......I am hoping that it was a wonderful time for all of you as well.
As most of you know ,the only pet I have now, is our black cat Taboo. When our daughter comes to visit, she brings her three pets consisting of two dogs,
Kaena
and Ruby,
along with her cat, Ellie.
My daughter is on a two week vacation and has left her group with us , trusting them to my care.
The pets are sweet and friendly, and the only hiccup I have is that my cat and my daughter's cat do not like each other and the dogs are over anxious with my cat. So to keep every pet happy and safe, my living room now has two large dog crates and I have managed to make the living room separate from the rest of the house, giving my cat free range in the other rooms. My daughter's cat has complete reign of the guest bedroom. My mornings are taken up with a long and enjoyable walk with both dogs around the perimeter of our property and up the field road and back to the house......then it's feeding time for everyone.......and then I spend time playing with Ellie. The day goes fairly well with the occasional trip outside to a play yard for the dogs and ends with a late afternoon long walk with them before the day ends. Since our Sophie has passed......it's been awhile since I have taken such long walks and I had forgotten how much time and attention dogs want. I do realize that although I love dogs, I do not want any for my own. I have gotten used to the freedom and doing whatever at any time and going anywhere at anytime without a concern .
How about you? Do you have dogs and cats? Do you want more than what you have now?
I would love to hear!

It is so kind of you to pet sit – I know that is a concern off your daughter’s mind, knowing that they are well cared for and loved! You sound about like me – our family room has become a zoo, the four kittens that were abandoned by someone, plus the one that we bottle fed have taken over our family room. It’s too cold to put them outside and they’re still too young. It will be a zoo until spring! Charlie, & Lola, Salem & Poppy, and Kipper!
How kind of you to keep your daughter's pets while she's on holidays. It sounds like quite a delicate operation. *smile*
We used to have cats when the kids were at home. Then we had first one dog and when that one got old we got another. After he was gone we said no more pets. But then Miss Kitty came and stayed but really she's no trouble at all.
After our dog and cat had both passed we moved aboard our sailboat fulltime. That started our no pet decade(s). As much as I love both dogs and cats, I'm afraid being a pet owner is out for now. Maybe someday, for companionship.
The animals are so adorable. It's kind of you to pet sit for your daughter. Glad you had a good Thanksgiving. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

How nice you are pet sitting. We only have our dog now No more pets for us. Janice
I would love to have another cat...but an older one. Maybe one day...our hearts are still sad from losing Miss Kitty...

We miss our dear Ella so much. It will be a while before we get another dog. She was so good we would always compare another dog to her and that isn't fair.
I have no pet of my own, but enjoy my dayghter,s dig and cat. I am too old to want more.. well, I want more..just know it is not a goid idea at my age.
That's so nice of you to take such good care of your daughter, Hannah's pets. To answer your question, Kathleen, we are pet-less now and plan to remain so. Cats and service dogs are allowed in the mill apts but there is a monthly surcharge. We like not having any pet responsibilities when we decide to take a road trip.
