The nights have gotten chilly and the daytime sun is not as intense as it has been during the sunny summer..........Autumn..........welcome!
I have noticed that the hummingbirds have not visited the feeder these past days and I suppose they
have taken flight on their journey to their warmer winter retreat.
The monarch butterflies have made their way here, rested during their visit, and now they too are gone.
I will miss them all. They have given us much joy and entertainment on our early mornings as we sit outside to enjoy the fresh cool start of day.
Everything that has been struggling to grow and bloom through the past heated summer days is now flourishing in this wonderful balmy weather.
I hope the climate stays this way for a few weeks longer so that I can continue enjoying the
beauty that surrounds me.
Taboo also enjoys these days. The grass is sweeter to chew on, to lie in ,and the morning sun makes it just comfortable enough to catch a nap
It wont be long until my outside work will have slowed down incredibly and I can focus on more things inside that I want to do. As many of you know well in your own lives......no matter how the seasons slow down one form of work, there is always plenty more things that still need to be done and to keep your hands busy
Here's wishing you the loveliness of balmy autumn days ahead!

That's what I do best, work with my hands... It's gotten quite cold during the night and it's balmy in the afternoon. We already have had the first frost and I'm cleaning out the gardens, slowly and I can only work outside when it's warm.
What a pretty cat, taking in all the sunshine he/she can. I love your beautiful swan container full of flowers.
Next Monday is Thanksgiving here in Canada. We have lots to be thankful for this time since we were spared the devastation from Fiona.
Take care, hugs.
Julia
Everything looks lush and beautiful there now. We have had no rain in a long while now, so most of the flowers are long gone now. I love your cat. He is so beautiful!
I agree that once the outdoor chores are dealt with for the season we get back into the tidying and organizing in the home. All the little things we let slide during the summer.
Taboo is a pretty cat. You may have noticed from my recent posts that a stray cat has adopted us (and promptly presented us with 5 adorable kittens). It's a new experience but very enjoyable.
When I first moved here I put my Tanner cat on a leash...until a neighborhood dog had him treed. Never did that again. He did stay on the porch when I was outside, so I let him be. Our nights are cool now and the trees are just starting to turn. I love Autumn and wish it could stay. Janice
We thought it was going to cool down here, but false alarm. Still hot. But it's surely coming and I can wait. Your flowers have been so pretty. My zinnias died, but they reseeded and those have come up and are blooming! I love it. Enjoy your grounds while you can!
The temperatures are dipping here...it was 38 the other morning, brrr. The garden has been tucked away for winter and I'm stacking hay and firewood. You're so right...now it's time to work indoors, so many things get overlooked for me in summer! Mary
What pretty scenes you share, I like the monarch butterflies and the bright zinnias, and your kitty.
It's nice that the temps have cooled down and that you are still enjoying lovely blooms, Kathleen. We used to see so many butterflies when we lived in VA, but this year I could count the few we have seen. Hummingbirds were plentiful there too and your photo capture was a good one. Taboo looks contented in the sunlight and keeping him leashed is a good idea with all the dangers there of wild things and rattlers.
I enjoy your posts so much. We see only one or two little hummingbirds now. I worry about the ones that stay behind. Taboo is beautiful! Such pretty eyes. It is cool here too now and really feels like fall. I had much rather work outside than inside so I am hoping we have several more weeks before winter sets in.
Hello dear friend. We miss our hummers too. It is sad to pack up the feeder and think so much snow has to fall before they come back!
You are certainly enjoying some gorgeous colours~ Our hummers have been going a month now, maybe that's one of ours on it's journey south. Amazing little creatures aren't they?
So enjoyed your autumn photos. Best time of year!

Wow! What awesome photos! I'm glad it's cooled off, this hot weather was difficult.
I love these beautiful photos. The butterfly on the zinnia is especially lovely.
