Here, in my world, without the noise and uncertainty of the news telling of the outside world's confusion, sadness, and frustrations,
I lose myself into the quietness of the woods, still in dark silhouettes of the early morning and walk under the vibrant colors of an early morning sky, created without paint or brush.
I share this moment with the wild birds whose songs echo through the woods and across the pastures. Coyotes give their last call , as they vanish over the hills and a cow moos a long deep "moo '' from a neighboring ranch as the morning sun breaks the darkness of the night.
It's a peaceful blanket that envelopes this chilly barren land as far as the eye can see, and it's with contentment that I start my morning and hope it stays with me throughout the day.
Contentment is what I wish for you in these chilly days of February that lie ahead.
Keep warm on the inside and let your warmth shine on the outside!

I can step into your part of the world, and feel the peace creep into my heart,Beautiful morning glory colours. Bird songs, and nature giving us so much at a time of upheaval all over the world.
What a beautiful post. Contentment is such a lovely thing. It's a shame more folks don't appreciate it.
💙 Amen
Contentment. Illusive to many. Easy for those of us lucky enough to be able to enjoy a rather isolated space. My rooster..Hector.. wakes me around 4:30. I'm happy to hear his crow and know he has had another night safe from predator's. His brother Henry has abandoned the porch rail having been chased off to find his own ladies. He now lives at the Chicken Coop. We have MANY sheep who are usually quiet unless the hay is being delivered to them, then they are off up the mountain to forage for whatever they find. So many different animals and birds. Do I miss my frog pond? No, I think they followed me from Indiana to this mountain where a creek runs along the front of the property because I hear them singing...only they start to sing HERE in February and don't stop until at least October. Yes, contentment is a blessing I am grateful to enjoy.
xx, Carol
You have poetry in your soul, Kathleen. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Awesome photos. I've been blessed with contentment all my life. Being thankful makes me content.
I wish you a month of contentment!
I will be definitely try to stay warm inside with the doozy of a snowstorm that is headed our way. What gorgeous photos. Sometimes we can hear the coyotes here in our neck of the woods too. Janice
Beautiful pictures accompanied by lovely words. In these difficult times one has to work a bit harder to maintain contentment. But it can be done.
Thanks for a sweet post.
Oh, I love seeing a post from you and this one is extra special. Your words are as beautiful as those amazing pictures. I need to come back and read this again and again. Thnk you.
As I am reading, the sun just set here, too! A lovely time of day...
Thank you.
You have a very poetic soul, Kathleen. I strive for contentment also and to be less and less attached to the things of this world. Simplicity is a blessing. What lovely sky photos.
We are also awaiting a huge storm coming our way with heavy snowfall.
Take care and stay well.
Hugs,
Julia
I'm glad you are going to blog here...I don't want to lose you! Love this beautiful post. Take care! Hugs, Diane
I'm glad you aren't saying goodbye to blogging! Your post was peaceful and lovely-a beautiful start to my day!
No truer words were spoken, Kathleen, as being content is one of the joys of life that is so often overlooked by many people who are always looking for something "better." Thanks for sharing these beautiful images too, my friend.
Beautiful..we are in the midst of a snowstorm here, it is blustery and brrrr. Spring will be upon us soon as our local groundhog says Early Spring. I'm with him. I've turned off and don't participate in watching or listening to anything. The world is a beautiful as it is, as we look out our windows, plant our gardens, and enjoy the birdsong. I saw 2 robins yesterday..spring is upon us.
QUE DIOS TE GUARDE DE TODA ESTA SEVERA TORMENTA DE NIEVE. ORARE POR TI. ABRAZO A LA DISTANCIA.
Beautiful, thank you.
A radiant warm greeting to you.
Well! I saw the "shocking" news that you will be blogging just on EIMP, ANIMH now. I can't blame that decision, as two blogs are very hard to keep up! I hope you will feature your lovely embroidery here, too! Beautiful prose in your post, and it certainly brought me a feeling of contentment.
What awesome sunset/sunrise photos. So thankful to get away to nature for peace.
