Seasons Greetings

Whatever else be lost among the years,

Let us keep Christmas still a shining thing;

Whatever doubts assail us, or what fears,

Let us hold close one day, remembering

Its poignant meaning for the hearts of men.

Let us get back our childlike faith again.

Grace Noll Crowell, "Let Us Keep Christmas," 1939

This is so beautiful and I love what it says. You know, your blog is one of my favorites. Don't know how I missed seeing your last few posts, but had to read back to find out what happened to your chickens. I'm just so very sorry. That must have been heartbreaking, and especially blaming yourself for forgetting to latch the door. I have done things like that too. I think back at some of the animals I've lost and wondered why I didn't do this or that, and maybe have saved them. Your pictures are simply amazing...like that long snake!! I love your blog! Hope things are better now.
