and the nights and early mornings have a welcomed chill to them.
A balmy and cooler breeze blows.
The cheery little wildflowers that dotted the landscape have dried and lost their color,
the wild grasses and other flowers are dry and brittle.
Everything is tired, weary, and ready for the ending days of summer.
Some of the flowers in my gardens are feeling much better with the cooler days
and are still blooming. The morning glory seems to
do so much better when fall time arrives.
The tolerant Mexican petunia is still green and vibrant and still blooming
it's lovely purple blossoms.
I am already in the mood for "everything pumpkin"
I have pulled some of my favorite fall food recipes and getting ready for my kitchen to fill with the aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, and ginger.
How about you?? Are you ready for summer's end?
Are you already gathering fall decorations to display?
I would love to hear!

When I bake pumpkin pies, our son always says the house smells like Grandma's house. Yes, I am definitely ready for fall and the smell of those pies. It's hot and dry here, but we have hopes the weather may start getting better next weekend.
we're not quite as dried out as that, but still HOT here. I too am ready for Fall!
Your muffins look good. I have discovered scones and have been busy making way too many of them!
I'm glad you are getting some cool breezes! What a relief. Those dried plant pods are very interesting, and the Mexican petunias look so healthy. Yes, I'm in the mood for Fall and pumpkin desserts and bread, one of my favorites with nuts and raisins. Have a good night. Phil
I'm loving the cooler nights when a quilt is once again needed. So much cozier. I have a few Fall decorations out and plan on getting out more this week.
Nope, I'm not giving it over to pumpkin just yet. Yes, our flowers are played out except for the Rose of Sharon and Hosta. The birds gifted me a sunflower in one of my petunia pots so I'll be enjoying that as it looks ready to bloom. Our temps for the next week are predicted to be in the high 80s. I think our seasons in Northern Indiana are switching it up a bit.

I'm not ready yet for summer to end. Summers here by me are like one long springtime and the weather is just about perfect for me.
I don't mind it getting dark at night but don't like the dark mornings because I have to wait until it gets light to walk.
I have decorated our exterior apt entry with scarecrows, pumpkins and fall leaves. This coming week, I plan to make pumpkin bread to give the house a nice aroma.
A little late visiting but I enjoyed your post. I am ready for fall too. Around here it feels
more like July and August than late September. In the 90's and no rain. I've done a little fall decorating but not much.
I'm a little sad to see summer go, but I know fall brings its own kind of wonder and beauty. I enjoyed seeing your photos. Wishing you a peaceful and happy day.
Oh, I'll be happy when we get some cooler weather! Still high 80's and into 90's yet. I love your Mexican Petunia; I have a couple and was hesitant to plant in the yard since the grasshoppers LOVE anything and everything I plant. :)
