These days and the year have just seemed to fly by so quickly,
so...........I feel blessed,
to wake up......without a sound to wake me.......
to walk at a slow pace........taking in the quiet world
around me
realizing , that I am not the only one
enjoying the quiet solitude
to be able to "stop and smell the roses"
and the other flowers along the way
to greet a weird creature that is ambling along
to hear the sound of the chickens in the chicken yard
the only one that seems to be in a hurry is
a lizard.....running quickly........but slowing down
to allow me to take it's photo.
to sit out in the day with the one I love
and to see the beauty of a rumbling sky
and when the day ends with the moon to bid
"goodnight"
to truly know it was a bliss filled day.
How about you??......tell me
is life whizzing by you quick and fast?
How do you like to "slow things down?"
I would love to hear.

Yes!!!! The year has flown by so quickly. Next thing we know, we'll be complaining about the cold weather. ;) I can't decide, am I lazy or is it age? I don't seem to get much done except walk through chickens, cook, and do laundry, while in the back of my mind I think of all I want to do in the sewing room. Good to have a post from you; mine are few and far between these days; no one seems interested in them. ;)
Your post was uplifting. I enjoyed your photos, and the one of the rumbling clouds was a bit ominous. I've not seen clouds like that down here in s.e.FL.
Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment on my blog. It motivates me to keep on doing what I can, when I can.

Beautiful sunrise and enjoyed seeing all your photos.
You are right in that the year is flying by. Love your owl! My life is pretty fast paced but I did sleep in today. I’m sitting right now listening to thunder.
Thanks for sharing,
Noreen
I love where we live. It is so peaceful near the big river. Great photos! Janice
This is a perfect Sunday post. Before we retired, we hardly had time to slow down. Now, we find the purest joy in sitting by the pond watching the fish and dragon flies, or watching out the window at the bird activity at the feeders. Maybe that's why our bodies slow us down. Maybe the loss of agility is really a gift from the Universe.
xx, Carol
What a beautiful place you have to help get away, relax and veg with nature....
Beautiful words, and photo's. Life, for me, seems to go faster the 'older' I get. Has it always been this way? Well, looking back, I'd say yes.
Remembering days of the alarm clock, jumping out of bed not wanting to be late to work; getting my girl ready for school. Those work days seemed to drag by. LOL
I love this post, and always happy to see you.
xoxo
So nice to find this wonderful new post, Kathleen. It does look bery peaceful and far removed from the fast pace of everything where you live. I think that the unidentified bug could be a “wheel” bug as we used to see these in VA as well. The owl is a beautiful capture and the flowers are lovely. The chickens are really growing up and look mich different than the little chicks you posted about earlier.
It's more difficult to find a quiet peaceful spot in the middle of a city but I find the early mornings are best suited to sitting on the porch and soaking in what quiet there is. We've been fortunate to have quieter neighbours on all 3 sides but the house beside us is going up for sale and we hope we get good people buying it.
What a great shot of that Owl. All the pictures are excellent.
I think your ideas for slowing things down are right on. I love the owl! I think he approves heartily of your ideas. Thank you for the reminder of those important things!
Your post is soothing and beautiful. I LOVE your owl. It's funny-I have just finished a painting of a white owl. I'll try to post it soon. I love your landscape-it's so very different than mine, and the beauty of it is awesome.
Beautiful photos, Kathleen. You live in such a lovely spot. Yes, life goes by much too fast for me sometimes too. It's nice to be able to sit back and relax and rest once in a while.
Awesome photos. What a wonderful thing to slow down and enjoy nature.
I actually am looking forward to the start of school. I have babysat a LOT this summer and selfishly want some of my at home days back (I work part-time). Want to start fall cleaning and doing more decluttering. I have soooo much stuff!
