That's right! The morning glories against the old wood is so pretty. Also, I just looked at your post on old cookbooks. I simply love the old cabinet and also the new shelves for your cookbooks. The rocking chair makes it just perfect. It looks cozy and country.
My Morning Glories were all self-sown this year but they also did great. Just yesterday I pulled them out. They were still blooming but the arbour they grew on really needs some fixing up so they had to come out.
I waited all summer for the morning glories on my fence to get flowers. The vine just kept growing and getting fuller and I never saw a bloom until the first of September. The vines in the front yard were blooming since July!! Miracle grow in the back...none in the front. Next year, I'll plant them differently, but I'm sure I'll feed them!! xx, Carol
I love morning glories. Unfortunately, we only had a few here this year. We had a drought for much of the summer, and the morning glories never came back after that.
We had some dark purple ones that I finally let bloom...the last time I let them bloom was the year I planted them-over 10 years ago! They were way too rambunctious and I had to keep them out of my garden. I'm glad some survived because this year my veggie garden needed some flowers. The veggies were lacking rain, but the morning glories kept on growing and blooming. I think they were the grandpa Ott's variety.
