Many of you have asked about how the situation over the damaged land
that I once called " my meadow" has been .......
I posted about this January 31st of this year (see link for the whole story)
For the first few months........I got upset every time I went to look at the land.....
so I have not posted about it
It has been months of different occurring issues
that has stalled the final negotiations and settlement
but the company that has caused the damaged has stepped up
and patiently worked on resolving and repairing......as best they can.
At last......the land is healing itself.
The company sowed the natural grass seeds early on.....
we had a lot of rain.........
but nothing sprouted.........
however.....a large patch of sunflowers found their way onto
this barren land
who can complain about sunflowers?
if you look closer to the ground.......there are still bare
and barren places and traces of tire tracks.......
the company also placed a sturdy and long fence all the
way down on our property.....
to prevent any more treading upon the grounds
and there is that one lone tree.....with a few more small ones around
I have hopes that this mesquite tree will grow and stand out on this land
as time goes by. I have been gathering all kinds of the wild flower seeds
here on the grounds......and in late fall....I will scatter them ......
here.......reclaiming........
my meadow
looking out across from our land, the farmer's fields
are tall and green in cotton
The issues have now been resolved......the negotiations agreed upon
and once again........I take long walks with Sophie......and Homer
and I can resume my usual cheery, butterflies floating.......
flowers blooming.......wild critters drinking..... posting...........
also.......you have asked about my spider bite..........
it is healing..........still slightly painful........
but healing.
Thank you , dear readers.........for always asking.......and
always caring.
Here's wishing well for all of you
wherever your " meadows" lie

I'm so glad to see your meadow is slowly returning. I love the sunflowers! I'm happy to hear you are healing from your spider bite too.
I am glad to hear and see that the land is healing, and to hear that your spider bite is healing too.
It's sad that the grass seed didn't "take" but the sunflowers are lovely. I'm glad you can again go walking with your dogs and can find a measure of peace about the whole situation. One can only hope that nature will prevail and your lovely meadow will one day be as it was.
I never knew this was your blog.. I used to come on occasion. Glad the meadow got better and your able to walk around. With love Janice
Let there be peace, on your land and elsewhere. Heal the bite, let those sunny flowers grow tall and bright, and take comfort from a resolution, a tree that is green, and a blue sky above it all.
I am so happy to see the meadow filling in with beauty once again.
Glad to hear that your hand is healing.

I'm new here K, and I was seething when I went back and read the original post. It's the way of the world to just take and never even have a clue about the damage that is done. I'm so happy that you stood your ground and fought for the earth. Slowly those grasses will return. I am always so amazed at what volunteers come up in my garden.
xx, Carol
Glad to hear of healing in both areas. You are surrounded by a different kind of beauty in your part of the country. I love seeing it. Thanks for your nice comment on my 'musings'. We'll be vacationing for a few days. Hope to have some good pics when I return. Have a great week and weekend.

So happy to hear your spider bite is healing. I know that has been a trial for you!
Love the wildflowers; I've probably said this before but I wish our entire back yard was filled with wildflowers. :)
Take care, and thanks for the update!

Thanks for the updates, Kathleen, and hope that in time both the land and your spirits will heal.
Your meadow is looking great. Hats off to you for sticking to your guns and making them responsible for the damage!
Thanks for responding to our questions concerning both the land and your hand. (I'm a poet and didn't know it! :) It must be wonderful to have such a lovely place to take walks; my trail is full of gravels which tend to roll with me and we all know I don't need to fall! "Happy trails to you..."
I was thinking about both of those topics-your bite and your land....isn't it odd that you'd post about them? But I'm very glad each issue is being resolved....
Kathleen, I am SO glad your meadow is finally on the road to recovery. And that you, too, are recovering nicely. I've heard it said that it's the hard things that make us strong. However, it WOULD be nice to coast along for a little while, wouldn't it?
