and filled up lakes and creek beds that had long since forgotten
what it was like to have water in them;
Leaving the grounds green and growing gourds,
pumpkins, and a multitude of flowers .
From the woods.........new things I have never seen before, began to sprout
from the gnarly mesquite trees......
beautiful, large golden mushrooms.........on the trunks
and underneath fallen limbs
all along the woods floor were colorful mushrooms in even shades of lavender.....
I have never seen lavender mushrooms.......until now.........
have you??
Mushrooms in every shape grew under every brush and
and in every area of woods..........
and every flower garden..............
some even peeked out in the plain dirt...............
and it's too bad that none of these can be eaten.
Although there is now plenty of wetlands across the area..........
this beautiful creature came for a bath and a drink in the yard "watering hole"
and in no time............flew away.
How about you?
Have your grounds gathered enough rain water........
or are you getting snow flakes yet?

Awesome photos ! We have been so damp dewy and rainy since summer we have moss growing every where . I love photographing fungi you have captured some wonderful fungi in your photos , I have seen lots of fungi and colours in them but never purple that's cool !Thanks for sharing , Have a good week !
Wow - y'all sure did get a lot! Some of those mushrooms I've not seen before. I'm glad you had time to get the pic of the (owl)? I'm not good at critters anymore, but I assumed an owl.
We've had enough rain, for a while there seemed like every day; kind of stopped for now. I may, in fact, have to do some watering of the flowers that the grasshoppers didn't get into. :)
Great pictures! We need rain her in the South. I have never seen some many different mushrooms. I'm behind on reading blogs trying to catch up! :)
Isn't a good rain wonderful!! Brings everything to new vigor. The pictures of the fungi are great!
We've had good rains all summer; quite a contrast to the summer of 2012. Grasses are so green and the hay field is ready to cut for the fourth time this season.
We have had some rain, gale winds, snow on the farm down south, and about 2 hours North of us, but spring is here, so hot today. Love the way those mushrooms just pop up out of nowhere. And the first photo, truly lovely. Cheers,Jean.
Great mushroom photos. Glad you got some rain.
We've had lots of rain, which makes things moldy and slippery. I do have lots of nice moss too and everything is growing like crazy. It's a jungle here.
Still very warm and humid.
Happy Fall ~ FlowerLady
Great photos. You have so many different mushrooms, I always think of pixies or fairies when I see the mushrooms growing in the woods. It's fall here and the weather has been wonderful.
Great pictures of the fungi. I am wondering if some of these might show up in some of your wonderful stitched pieces. Rain is such a blessing!
Great mushrooms!!! We have had a lot of rain this summer. (if we have this much snow we have had in rainfall this winter we will be in deep doo doo, or is that snow, lol)Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could bundle it up and send where it is needed. I pray they will find an answer to that someday. Your pics are great. MJ
Seems there's no end to the different mushrooms that grow all over the country. Was interesting to get to see some of yours. And the picture of the hawk was over the top! Wow!
Wow, you got so much rain. Isn't it amazing what rain can do. Loved all your photos. I hope you have a nice weekend!
I enjoyed your mushroom/toadstool extravaganza! They always make me think of the fairy tales our mother used to read to us when we were very young. Long ago.
Your rains have left you with a lot of beauty! And how neat to have the (Coopers Hawk?) visit your water pan!
