well...............actually not this kind of swing.........
but the dance with the weather and the temperature swinging from hot to cold in just a matter of hours.
Last week, we had snow and ice..........
yesterday we had sunny weather in the 60's........
we were driving home when across the horizon, a dark blue cloud bank appeared.........
within minutes, it had completely covered us...........
when we got to our home, we were greeted by freezing wind.
This is one of my favorite creeks to take photos of when I am out and about on pics. The white you see around the trees is frozen water. This whole creek was pretty much iced over..........
surprising for this area.
In the middle of thawing out.........we got more freezing temps and froze up again.
I am sure this is nothing compared to what many of you are experiencing across the country.
So tell me.........
Are you the adventurous type and go out sledding and sliding?
Or are you content to stay inside in comfort and warmth?
I would love to hear!

Wow, those are some wild swings in the temperatures you have there. Here it seems like it has just been cold and stayed cold for the longest of times. When I was young I would have gone sledding perhaps, but not for a very long time. I wouldn't do it at all now. I never have liked the cold weather. I'm more than ready for spring to return.
It is surprising how quickly the icy temperatures moved onto your place, but what beauty they left behind !
I am not adventurous at all, preferring to stay indoors after I do chores. There is always some needlework or housework that needs to be done indoors while I enjoy looking outdoors.
Texas weather really does swing !
All the cold weather we are having this winter brings to my mind the Laura Ingalls Wilder book, The Long Winter. How did they ever survive? Farm work goes on, no matter the weather, but when my chores are done, I like to work inside on some type of needlework or crochet.
Adventurous , No!!!, I leave all that to Hugh, preferring the level road, calm sea and fine weather. Hope that cold snap vanishes as fast as it came. Cheers from Jean.
Ice and snow has seemed to dip very far south this year with few of your glorious states spared by its wrath.
Up here its old hat and we have adjusted well finding pleasure in outdoor pastimes and hibernating by a cozy fire when the weather is at her worst.
I'm so glad you only shot a photo rather than using a gun on that coyote.
As with all of Nature's creatures we must live with some tolerance of the strongest survivors. Bait laden with birth control as we do up here with raccoons is a far more humane way to help control the problem...
Thanks ever so much for stopping by for a visit...

Great photos! So glad you came by my blog so I could come meet you. I've got a lot of posts I want to read and I'm going to follow you.
Looking forward to more visits.
Hugs, Noreen
We do not have snow too often, but I will venture out in it for a short while. Then I prefer being inside by the fireplace.

It's been quite a ride with the temps. Up, down, and now going up again. Soon to be in the 70's! But I'll take it....need to get my raised beds refilled and think about planting onions and broccoli soon.
When it gets cold, I am in the house! I go out for chicken chores and that is it....too old for the winter activities! :)
Blessings!
The Texas Swing is a very good description of what we have going on here! Is it Spring yet?
We're still in winter here in the mountains of NC. We are currently under a winter weather warning, covering a large area. Up to 12 inches of snow depending on where you live. I don't mind. I'm looking forward to not being able to get out of my drive to go to work. :) I would much rather have snow than ice.
It is said around here, if you don't like today's weather, just hang around a day or so, and it will change. We get some pretty big swings too. Your icicles are interesting...knotty and bent...caused by a freezing cold wind, no doubt.
We don't have a whole lot of cold weather here in Florida, only a little. But we have scorching heat and humidity in the summer with lots of rain, so I stay in the air conditioning and catch up on my needlework and other crafty fun. Kind of a reverse winter thing here, inside in the summer!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I thought Missouri was the only place with such temperamental weather! I prefer to stay by the fire, especially with so much ice. I think we've had enough winter this year!
Those are some really big swings in the weather. I love the photo of your pond. We've had snow this week and I've mostly stayed inside reading.
