where the prickly tumbleweeds roll across the dry prairie
yet, the evening sky can make that same prairie look like a painting, filled with all soft and muted colors.
It's Texas where spiked barbed wire on old posts made from trees
still try to guard the forgotten farm home...........
and where a windmill waits in the fallen trees for the folks to return.
It's Texas, where the creatures are large, with large sharp horns..........
and are strange looking with sharp spikes...........
It's Texas, where every drop of water matters.............
It's Texas,
where the wind blows a sweet fragrance of the wildflowers across the prairie
and acres of blue bonnets are in bloom.
It's dry, harsh, thorny and wild...........
It's beautiful..........
It's Texas.

Lovely post and lovely pics! It's always a treat to come and visit!
Wonderful post and photos ! Here in Ontario Canada we are in the midst of high winds and rain storms in the south and winter storms in the north mother nature has been so mixed up here ! Some parts have spring and some parts well are still figuring that out lol !
Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !
Blue bonnets and a windmill, lovely photos, each one. Enjoy your part of this world. Cheers from Jean
What a lovely description of your beloved Texas! I'll probably never see it except through your photos. Thanks!
Hi Kathleen!
Those blue bonnets are really gorgeous! The bouquet I'd lovely.
My sister, who lives in Pharr, Texas has some surprising stories about giant bugs she has encountered there. Whew!
Have a great day!
I love your Texas!!! I love the beautiful pictures!!
I agree, Kathleen - Texas is wonderful. I wasn't born here, but I got here as fast as I could. I love it, and there is always something new to see and to do. Beautiful post!
It's Texas and it is my HOME ('til I get to my eternal home!)
I think we hone our "beauty" senses here - some places are harder to see the beauty but oh it is beautiful (I loved the West Tex desert after a heavy storm and all those frogs would come out!)
You live in an amazing place, Kathleen!
The old forgotten farm scenes are a little sad... I'm sure where there was once hustle and bustle it is now deathly quiet.
What a beautiful post and tribute to your home state, Kathleen. You have so much beauty there. It is certainly very different from Ohio. I really enjoyed your photos and your words that you posted with them. It is easy to see how much you love it there.
Love this post...great depiction of your wonderful state!
Oh, what a sweet and lovely post! I loved all the different views of Texas!
Kathleen, easy to see that you care and live the state and it's beauties, natural and otherwise.
So many familiar pictures. I'll be visiting Texas in May for a reminder of why I still love it so much. And..to hone my accent! Lovely post Kathleen.
Debbie
