The old mesquite tree in our backyard..............no matter how weathered and tattered it may look...........I love it!

I've always loved that poem, we memorized it in school. And yes, this day is a perfect day to plant a tree.

Twenty four years ago we planted a willow oak in front of the house. Now it's big and pretty, with a wonderful shade. Love the poem!

I agree with that "proverb", Kathleen. Although my PA home had plenty of trees when I moved there last spring, I planted 2 river birch and 2 Alaskan Weeping Ceder trees. I am looking forward to getting back ther (from AZ) to see how they are doing this spring. I also miss my 2 humongous oaks and the red-leafed trees near my back deck. I think I have had almost enough "tree-less-ness" here in AZ for this year :) Have a wonderful Spring-time!!
I have always loved that poem, and I do love trees! Your mesquite is wonderful! I will have to take a picture of the little mesquite we planted last year in our yard once it leafs out again!
