It's November and here on the prairie

the days are filled with warm sunshine and  a clear blue sky,

at night the temperature dips down , so far to 37.........it will soon dip to freezing.
My Zinnia gardens did just as I hoped they would. Planting them later in the summer has let me have beautiful blooms, although they are beginning to look tired from the cold damp nights. These blooms will probably be gone in a couple of weeks.
Now is the time that I have covered my greenhouse in plastic sheeting and have moved all of my flowers to the inside shelves. I have a heater that keeps the greenhouse comfy at night.

The plants have taken the move quite well. The Aloe Vera is blooming,

the rose moss is still blooming it's brilliant colors,

some new flowers have sprouted,

and marigolds cheer up a back corner.

The geranium, which did not like the hot Texas heat, is so happy and cheerful in the greenhouse.

The tall cactus in the back is almost touching the ceiling. I bought it when it was only a few inches high about 3 years ago. If it continues to grow, it will not fit into the greenhouse next winter.

On sunny days, I keep the greenhouse door open to let the plants have some fresh air.
There is still so much that I want to learn about greenhouses and growing  plants in them. I have enjoyed the journey with each year that passes.
In my recent post, I told you about a crane, I named him Ichabod Crane, who discovered my pond and was eating my goldfish. I have only 11 fish left, however, after placing fencing and chicken wire over and around the pond, where he could not dip into it, he has not shown back up for two days now. My pond looks like a junkyard, but it will stay that way until March , until the cranes leave this area.
I refuse to give my pond and goldfish up............I am very determined.
How about you?
What kind of weather has November brought your way?
Do you have a greenhouse?
If so, what do you plant and grow in it?
I would love to hear!

I'm so envious, I've always wanted a greenhouse! Yours is beautiful and so inviting and the flowers are fabulous. I love that tall cactus, too. It was fun seeing the inside of your greenhouse, I hope you will post more pictures again sometime!

This was an interesting tour of the greenhouse. Your flowers are gorgeous! I brought my things inside the house and the geraniums are already dropping their blooms. I don't really know whether to try and save them or just start over next spring.

Keep us posted on the flowers.

A greenhouse is next on my list! I've been saying that for 10 years! One day maybe it'll happen. I'm almost envious of yours. . . .LOL

Your greenhouse looks wonderful! I want one, but have no clue where it would fit in our little yard. :) And yeah, my beautiful geraniums just shriveled up when the heat hit here this summer. I think I'll buy some more for my sewing room window next time I see them for sale. They are such cheerful flowers.

My mother has the dilemma every year as to where to put her plants/flowers when it's time to bring them in out of the cold. She doesn't have a green house, not sure it would help here in the NC mountains. We had snow in the higher elevations earlier this week. Cold winds too.

Your greenhouse is such a lovely oasis of color and beauty, Kathleen. I'm glad to hear the crane has moved on.

Oh, I LOVE your greenhouse! I am supposed to be getting one soon. I have several things that need the protection to over-winter. What kind of heater are you using?

Our Nov weather has been calm considering the way Oct left in a stormy huff. We had a greenhouse, but it was only used for a year and now our small garden sits in its footprint.

No greenhouse at high altitude, but the plants in yours are lovely to see. Before frost, I put any perennials in pots in my garden and hope they come up again in spring. I have snow on the ground in Breckenridge and even in Denver, nights are dipping to freezing.

I just love your little greenhouse! Looks like it is in a spot protected from wind too.
