are just beginning to streak through the crooked branches of the mesquite woods
as Sophie and I head out to the chicken yard. The chickens and ducks are starting to squawk and quack, knowing that I am on the way to let them out of their enclosure to wander the grounds for the day.
Even if I live to be 95, I think I will always enjoy the need to be out of bed in the early morning hours,......if it's to either feed and take care of a chicken, or even if it is just to see the still quietness of the woods............whether it is freezing snow on the ground, hot wind and dust blowing, or heavy pounding rain outside. These early morning moments are what I look forward to.
How about you? Do you like being able to just stay in a sleep a little longer,
or is life outside tapping on your window and calling for you to come out?
I would love to hear!

Wow, you are blessed to have all that property to wake up to and the sounds of your animals. I only wish I could have some chickens but in the city its not possible. I am thankful though for the property we do have and all the trees.
You are so correct, early mornings are the best when you see the sun come up and see nature wake up with it. I love to watch the sun make different patterns on the ground peeping through the bushes and trees, they change so fast. The ground is quiet with the faint sounds of birds if flight.
I so hope you have a good day and stay cool.
I have always wanted to be an early morning person. I tend to get up around 8am. Ted is an early riser. I do love mornings.
7:00 seems to be my natural time to wake up if left to my own devices. It's not always to head outside first thing, although I do enjoy the morning sunrise. :)
I wish I were an early person, but I'm not. I was probably heading to bed about the time you got up. LOL
I am with you on the quiet mornings.. my chickens and a walk about the flowers & garden to see how they all awake. Especially in the early morning when the house is asleep.. coffee brewed and ready for my first cup.. a great wake up.. Have a great day!

I tend to want to get up when the light comes in my window, no matter the time. During this hot weather it is nice to get the outside work done earlier.
One morning the trees in my yard looked like they had been rubbed with gold leafing. It's later now before the sun reaches my windows because of a pine grove across the road from us, and I miss that.
No ma'am. I'm up by 6 or 6:30 at the latest. I never sleep in. I must be up and about - my favorite time of day, altho I don't have any chickens yet, and am presently without a pooch. ;(
I love to watch the sun coming up and some of my best watering and gardening time comes in the dawn hours. So peaceful - a new day with all kinds of new possibilities!
Thanks for asking! I must get me another pooch!
I've always been an early riser and hit the floor ready to go! About 9 p.m. at night though, I run out of steam!!!
You and Sophie have a beautiful place to walk under the trees. I hope you are enjoying the week.
I am usually a late sleeper (have always been) I don't like telephone calls before 10 am and after 10 pm. Since I've been gardening and it's so hot I get up early to get the jobs done..still don't like early or late calls.
I'm up early myself...always have been..but when night comes I'm ready for bed. Even as a child.

I have to get up early for work, so I like to sleep in a little on weekends. If I happen to get up early on a day off, I am so amazed at how much I can get done in a day!
I'm up before daybreak every day too, Kathleen.. there is something about the stillness of early mornings I love.
However... when it stays dark longer in the winter mornings, sometimes I'll sneak back to bed for a little snooze because the warmth of the comforter calls my name LOUDLY! *grin*
I always wish I could get up and enjoy getting up...but I like the late hours....We are all wired differntly (o: I will take your word for it...vibrant orange rays (o:
i just read about max and my eyes are full and brimming with tears....Oh...I love animals....it made me think of all who have come and gone here...it really does hurt even when it's time.....
I love all times of day..but I love the quiet times the best....when only the sounds of nature are present.....so yes..I do love morning....and dusk....and star filled nights....
The trees lined up, those are mesquite? Very pretty indeed. I'm a night owl, love the night outside in the cool with quiet animal noises.
I have learned to appreciate the mornings especially when it's hot out.
I am an early morning person too, Kathleen, even though I tend to stay up later the night before. In the past few months, I have been going to the local YMCA at 6 a.m. several mornings for a spinning (cycling) class; 7 a.m. other days. It's a great way to start the day and to be abe to see a sunrise too.
Kathleen,
I have been awake late into the night and the sun is almost rising in my part of the world now. Reading your post first thing in the morning awakens my senses to a beautiful day ahead of me. Thanks for the post!
Best,
Suma.
Thanks so much for stopping by my stagnant blog and leaving me a message. It must be a sign that I need to get with it and revive my posting. At first it was an inability to load pictures and then "life just got in the way". I been thinking about jumping back in late;i and your note was further encouragement. Thank you, Joanne @lavenderfieldsetc
