The baby chicks are growing , but still too small to leave
the safety of the shed. It will be just a little longer before they can be with the others out in the chicken yard.
However, the ducks have just grown in a short matter of weeks! Today was their first day to enter the pen.................they were just like 5 year old children on their first day of kindergarten............they have only known a light and an inside pen.............dirt is something entirely new to their feet................and I was just like a mother on that first day!
I kept checking on them hour after hour to see if they were ok.
But soon, the realization that they were ducks kicked in and they were making the rounds, checking out the chickens and the grounds of the chicken yard. I think they are going to be happy!

They look like happy ducks! It seems like ducks usually are happy. More so than chickens anyway. But then, what do I know? City slicker that I am. :)
Kathleen, I remember having ducks in NJ and they are going to love that pool :o) , I had to clean mine every few days before they discovered the water in the rear of the property that I didn't even know was there until they started disappearing for a long periods of time :o)

Oh, how sweet! I wish we had room for ducks, too, but really having the chickens is pushing it. :)
awww - ducks are so cheerful looking aren't they?
Oh, you sweet babies are precious, looks like they have a very sweet comfortable loving home.
Ducks will be ducks, right? I know that is fun, tho watching them explore new territory.
Hope you have a blessed day

Kathleen, thanks for sharing the growing of the chicks and ducks. They do grow so fast, like children, Happy Mother's Day to you!
Hi Kathleen, your chicks and ducks are adorable. So far I haven't gotten any new ones this year, but am hoping my hens will set some eggs soon. You will have fun with the ducks, ours entertain us every day. lol
I have been on blog break this week, but wanted to come by and say hi.
Hugs,
Sue
Hi Kathleen! Ducks grow while you're watching, don't they! They're going to love their swimming pool! I had ducks when I was a kid and they were so fun! I hope you have a wonderful week!
Hello Kathleen,
