before the cold weather sets in....................
to my delight, there are 12 bullfrogs living in the water with our goldfish. I just love these whimsical creatures..............yes, that is Sophie's nose. She is checking out this cold, smelly, fellow. She can't stand anything else getting my attention and she is just as curious about nature's critters as much as I am.
I managed to get only 4 to hang around for a group photo..........then , they too, hopped away. What surprises me most is that we live far out, away from any natural water source. For these creatures to find our pond and to flourish here, especially in this thorny, dry area, is just the amazing! Don't you think? And yes, as soon as the pond was filled with fresh water, they all returned.

Isn't life sweet?

For some reason we have had an abundance of them this year. (Which thrilled me to no end! haha)
I love the picture of Sophie's nose.

Oh, Kathleen, I love your curiosity and zest for life. And the bullfrogs are quite handsome, too. It always makes me happy to see God's creatures thriving (except those vermin I don't want to see anywhere!). Have a good weekend. Hugs, Elaine
Hi Kathleen, maybe I need to take a lesson from these creatures; when the going gets tough, the tough get going (or something like that) They sure had to have constitution to be able to make the journey, kinda like our life is sometimes. Have a blessed weekend!

The frogs have found a home and they know when and where to go :o) Ginny
Hi Kathleen, looks like your pond is the desinated place for them and they will return...Ginny
I am not sure sweet is the word (o:
but yes they are very cool
How cool you got a couple pics! I think they are cute and fun to watch too!
How neat!! It's been many years since I've seen a bullfrog. That is really cool that you found 12 of them!
This is SO cool, Kathleen! Imagine - just a short time ago you were getting that satellite dish ready to sink into the ground for a pond!!! This is just too cool! WHat a goodlooking bunch of princes!
Don't know about frogs, but we've had ALOT of toads this year. They're all over my flower gardens, big ones, little ones. I hope they're eating plenty of bugs!
