Sophie and I went out in the icy, frosted morning to get the morning chores done in a hurry.
....................*From the Garden Book*..................
This is a good time to till up your flower and garden spaces if the soil is not frozen or wet to expose it to the beneficial effects of freezing which breaks apart the heavy clods causing them to crumble. This also exposes the eggs of many insect pests to the effects of sun, wind, freezing temperatures and food hunting birds.

Love the frosted leaves, Kathleen. They do look like gingerbread! :)
You are so right, they do look like frosted gingerbread. The rolls sound yummy. Something we will have to try when we get home.

WHAT A VERY COOL PHOTO! THEY DO LOOK LIKE FROSTED GINGERBREAD! VERY PRETTY...:D
Those 'gingerbread leaves' are just beautiful, and as you know I have a thing for gingerbread stuff. Little Sophie is so cute! I suspect she's your best daily buddy just like my Beau. He's never far away! Those rolls sound so good. Make sure Sophie gets a few nibbles:D

Hello Kathleen,

What lovely photos of the frosted leaves and your dog. Looks like it's really cold there in TX. We're getting very, very cold weather, too. Hope you all stay warm and have a very Happy New Year.
Little gingerbread men all hanging from your tree!
THat bread recipe looks so easy and so good, I printed off your recipe. I plan on having the savory recipe soon! I didn't think about just making the dough in my machine. duh...
Yes! that does look like gingerbread!! Beautiful! THe rolls look good!
Those leaves ARE beautiful! I've never seen any edged like that before.
certainly does appear to be a gingerbread tree right there in West Texas! Rosemary is such a wonderful plant - sometimes I crush a stem in my hand just so I can inhale that wonderful smell.
I love the picture of the leaves. Great catch.
I just dug my sweet potatoes. It was a surprise they were still good. Good only Texas versatility. It did mix up my soil to dig them.
Love the homey feel every time I come by.
Thanks for stopping by and dropping a line.

Right at first I thought you had made gingerbread and decorated the cookies. You are so right. And they are beautiful!

Stay warm!!
Love the gingerbread leaves! They truly do resemble something yummy to eat :) And ohhh, Sophie is a doll ♥ -Tammy
I don't enjoy the freezing cold but I do like the picture of the frozen leaves. I will be glad when it warms up some so I can go out. I can't go out when it is real cold as it makes the fibro kick in and I don't want that :)
The leaf picture is really neat! They do look like gingerbread cookies. And now I'm hungry!
I wish our ground wasn't frozen solid so we could till it up a little bit!
Wow those leaves do look like gingerbread! Nice blog :-)
