We were covered under a light blanket of snow in the early morning hours.
As soon as the school bus left,
I headed out to the hen house. The ducks were the only ones excited about getting out and walking around on the snowy grounds.

I have a wonderful view of the snow covered woods from where I work.
Every thing is still and quiet. The little bird cabin that was once filled with twigs, fluff, and bird busyness, is now vacant.
The sun is already out and dancing across the frozen earth.....
by noon the snow will be melted and just a memory.
Hope this finds all of you warm!

How beautiful..what a wonderful visit from Mother Nature...hugs, Linda
I love it, Kathleen! We're hoping for some here, too. I already heard this morning that it's snowing in the Houston area & trying to stick a little. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for here in east Texas, too!
I love the duck tracks - you can see where it dragged its toes a little! Very cute - my favorite!
We had low 20's temps last night, but no snow yet! (Thankfully!) Our chickens get very offended by snow. They think that I put it there to get them!
From way down in GA thank you for sharing the pretty snow photos - we don't often get to enjoy pretty winter scenes. I agree, those duck tracks are cute as can be! Have a nice weekend.
What a winter wonderland, even with a skiff! And who said it doesn't snow in Texas!? Beautiful pics. You have a way with a camera, as well!
Lovely pictures, Kathleen! My favorite is the duck tracks. :) We have no snow here at the moment, but I'm not complaining a bit about that. It is cold here though. 23 degrees right now. Hope you enjoyed your winter white! Have a good weekend. :)
i love the ducky foot prints!
Kathleen, I laughed out loud at your duck prints! So cute. Our chickens couldn't wait to get out in the snow. Of course we didn't have as much as you got, but for Houston it was a lot. They immediately went out and about to see what had happened. Chickens are never ending entertainment.
Beautiful pictures! I love snow. They are calling for it in the mountains and my son wishes it would come a couple hundred miles down to us, lol!
I love pictures after a fresh snow..LOVE the cute duck tracks, they look like little kites! Come say hi :D
I love the fresh snow. We are still snow free here and looking forward to it. What beautiful pictures. I'm glad the ducks were happy.

I love reading your blog and I think I actually do miss looking out the window sometimes and seeing snow...It just isn't the same here in ALA and I am really counting on moving back North this spring
The first snow is such a treat, especially when it sticks around for awhile in places that don't normally get a lot of snow. Just beautiful!
I can't believe Texas got snow before Michigan. We do have some cold wind tho and a few flakes are flying. Enjoy, and nice pictures.
Oh, Kathleen!
Your farm just looks beautiful!
You lucky girl, snow.... and it stuck (for you!)! Isn't it exciting?!?!
And, Thank you, for your sweet comment! You are too sweet! I mean too, TOO sweet!
Stay warm and try to enjoy this chilly, Christmas-y weather!!!
Merry Christmas,
Julie
So pretty! I wondered if you got some snow. We only got a dusting here-but it was nice.
Stay warm, Kathleen. I hear this winter is supposed to be colder than usual all over the country! Do you have a wood stove to keep you warm and toasty? Ours has been fired up for a couple weeks now.
wonderful pictures, Kathleen. I love the one with the duck tracks in the snow.
LOVE THOSE DUCK PRINTS!! The Snow too!
The duck tracks are so cute, Kathleen!
Hope you're staying warm!
