I have never known my husband's hands to feel soft, even from the first time I met him and held his hand. His hands told the story of long hours of work. Through the 25 years of holding his hand through the twisted roads of life, I know the feel of his hands even with my eyes closed and the many roles his hands have played in our life together.
His hands brought me bouquets of wildflowers that he had stopped to pick on the way before we went out on a date. On our wedding day, his best man knocked on the door at church where I was getting ready to walk down the isle. My maid of honor answered the door and brought me a bouquet of wild flowers that my fiance had picked on the way to the wedding.
His hands have touched each of our children's new tiny hands at the time of their birth and has comforted and supported them through the years with fatherly love, always patient, always kind and gentle.
I have seen his hands in prayer,
I have seen his hands open to anyone in need.

This is such a wonderful post! So sweet! My husband has those kind of hands too. His feel leathery cause they are so tough from working. And stained cause he works on cars a lot. But I love him too!

What a nice post honoring your husband and all he does! I wish more women would realize the precious gift they have in a caring and loving husband. I, too , am one of the blessed ones, and my husband's hands are such a comfort to me to hold. Right now I miss him very much, as he is away caring for his father who just had open-heart surgery.
PS. I love your blog!
What a beautiful and tender post! (It brought tears to my eyes, because that's how I feel about my husbands hands too). I've always noticed mens' hands. My dad had wonderful hands that were so strong and gentle, too. Thank you for this wonderful post.
Patricia :o)
What a beautiful tribute to a hardworking man!!
This is a sweet post. Mr. C's hands are rough too. He grew up working for a guy who had a farm. Now he's always tinkering with something or fixing something. After dating a guy who did nothing and had baby-soft hands... I love his rough hands!
Beuatiful, Kathleen... you have such a way with words.. (and pictures!)
