I saw one getting jumped on by a squirrel last week. Then the hawk would squawk and flap at the squirrel. That's one lucky squirrel that he didn't get eaten. He spotted the baby squirrels that had crawled out of their nest. Thankfully, he didn't get one. Oh, I love the painted shovels. We just plant flowers that will feed the birds-I had one summer where Grackles killed all of our Junco's-and one day I found about 20 decapitated gutted birds on my lawn-that was it.
