Snow fell ,only slightly, the other day

and I loved watching the large lovely flakes
softly float across and down onto the ground.
it never accumulated and it melted away quickly,
and even though the days have gotten much colder,
I  still have a tomato vine, growing  and crawling
wildly along the green house fence.

Ripe tomatoes along with green ones, still hanging on in
December.
I gathered a good bunch for the day's lunch

The lantana, even though it is still green, knows that winter is
coming and now has it's green pods that soon will turn black.
I have no idea  why they produce these.........they do not sprout
from these pods..........or perhaps, I am just not successful at
getting them to sprout that way
Yet, among the remaining green........the end of summer and
the time for everything to go into slumber, is starting to show up.

The oak tree out back has gone from vibrant orange
to a darker red........it's leaves are starting to fall.

The pomegranate tree leaves have all turned yellow and gold

So I finally bid farewell to summer
and enjoy the glow of the fireplace

as well as  the cheery Christmas tree in the window.

Christmas is almost here.........

and I am ready for a table full of family.
How about you?  Do you have a blanket of snow
in your yard?  Is any plant still hanging on your gardens?
I would love to hear!

We do have snow! About 3 inches. A lot of it is lake effect snow. The sun is shining right now and I need to go out and try to get some photos. All of my flowers and garden plants have given way to withered leaves, or just bare branches. But I do love bare trees. I have a few evergreens in the yard. The ornamental grasses are still pretty-their color is like corn husks now.

We have days of between 18C and up to 30C, so hot, all is dry, no rain, farmers are so worried, Christmas is almost here, and I have so much to be SO thankful for, Your indoor setting is lovely, all ready for family to come, and outside, everything winding down and saving their energy for the long winter ahead. A season to be enjoyed, no matter how cold for you, or hot for us.Merry Christmas.

Christmas Greetings to you! We have had a long dry spell here in Colorado, but woke up this morning to a light dusting of snow. It's all gone now. I wouldn't mind just having a dusting now and then instead of inches and inches. Our landscape it pretty brown, except the golf course behind us has some green on the grass. Your decorations and table is beautiful.
Hugs,
Noreen

No snow here, or rain; we're under a burn ban in fact. Snow is pretty, but on the farm it makes a lot of extra work for us tending to the cattle and chickens. Isn't it great to have fresh tomatoes and a beautiful Christmas tree at the same time!

No plants around here. Snow covers everything and it is snowing again right now.

I love watching big fat snowflakes fall. We usually have at least a few snowfalls every year; we have to get snow tires on etc. to be prepared just in case. Hard to believe you still can gather tomatoes in December.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Tomatoes? I'm impressed! Yes, those lantana seeds do sprout. I brought some home years ago from Mr. Muddling's mother's house, and have had a rampant supply of lantana ever since! Your house looks ready for Christmas. Hope yours is truly special this year! <3 <3 <3

Yes, there has been a few inches of snow in NH, but we were traveling and not home to see it, however, more is forecast for this weekend. How wonderful to still have fresh tomatoes from your garden and I liked the vintage enamel pan they were in too, Kathleen. It’s so nice to see a decorated tree in the window and your holiday table setting looks warm, “homey” and so inviting. Our best wishes of the season to you and your guests as we try to get ready for the holiday with only a few days left before Christmas 🎄

Wow, tomatoes still on the vine in December. We did have about six inches of snow, but it has melted away again for now. I'm sure we will get more before too long. Beautiful photos! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
