The weather, as I mentioned in the last post,

quickly turned sunny and pleasant.

So much in fact that the honey bees are out and about..........buzzing and dipping into  the watering containers along the grounds.

Even a lizard, who was watching me as I worked along the edge of the pond,

came out to warm itself on the sun baked stones.

Out in the woods, the gardens I have been planning and working on, are sprouting tulips in their containers,

I am hoping that they will all bloom before the deer or rabbits find a way to munch on them.

Speaking of rabbits, I am starting to place small statues of such around

the various shrubs and trees in the wooded gardens. I really wish I could find a salvage yard that has old cement fixtures that I could decorate my gardens with. I don't want new, and I try to stay away from "cute". I don't want bathing elephants with a big smile on them, out in the woods.
I am wanting a more,..........vintage............forgotten.........Gothic
look.

The pansies I planted early in the fall have just filled out the planter box on the patio. I wish I could keep these cheerful blossoms growing all year long! But soon the Texas climate will claim their doom.
I hope this finds all of you staying warm from the storms that are stretching across in  your area.

Your pictures so makes me hope that Spring is just around the corner. The flowers are so pretty. I love Pansies in my flower box, but I just don't have the time to take care of them. I would love the warmer weather, but we will just have to wait a little longer. Hope you have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from a Missouri Friend.

Hi Kathleen!
I love the tulips in the galvanized tub! And your pansies look really good. I can't wait for spring myself.

Do you keep bees? Those look like 3-band Italian bees. We had those at one time.

Have a great week

I'm so anxious to see "our" bees come out and play in the water! Thanks for the beautiful glimpses of Spring.. they are wonderful. Love the old cement decorations idea also. I feel the same way. The new stuff just doesn't fit in here! Enjoy that lovely weather.. it's not so lovely here in MO! :) -Tammy

Wild plums blooming in my tiny acreage - bees in a frenzy! I also love my pansies - will hate to see their perky little faces disappear but I am SOOOO ready for warm weather. Lots of garden renovation/addition going on here - I hope to start blogging again sometime in the summer. I agree about "old stuff" in garden - I have a few new things but most enjoy the items worn by time and love! (kinda like me?? hehehehe)

It is starting to look really pretty there, Kathleen! And I wouldn't like "cutesy" there either. I'm sure you'll chance upon just what you want and at the right time.

Someone passed along to me a turtle with a little turtle on his back that bobs. I know what you mean, I am trying to find a home for him, I don't have much room as it is but bobbing turtles??? Your flowers are gorgeous, I've been looking forward to your spring pictures.

I always enjoy seeing your place! Spring is popping out here in Louisiana, too, but our nights are still cold. Love your beautiful pansies - and the rabbits!

Nice to find time to catch up on some blog reading, Kathleen, and yours was a great stop for a visit. I agree with you on not wanting cute yard ornaments and wish you luck in your search for the vintage one. The rains and winds came here with a vengeance this week, but the rains have gone and the wind stayed on. No snow for us but New England relatives got our share it seems.

Kathleen - love those little bees! I don't like the cutesy garden statues either. I like the old ones

I think we're going to get some of that rain tonight. We are still way behind so I'll take all I can get!

Have a wonderful Sunday!
