How hot and dry is it here in Texas??

It's so hot and dry.............

that the insects are learning how to turn on the water hydrants!

How hot and dry is it in your area?
Hope you are finding a way to stay cool!

As large as that bug is, he sure can turn the water on himself. TX has big bugs!

Stay cool and praying for rain.
We too are hot and dry.

(trying to leave you a comment earlier but it would not take, lets see if it does this time)

We have been cool and wet here in Oregon. Just the last three days has it started to warm up - to about 80 degrees! We only have to use air conditioning for about 5 - 10 days in August.

I hope our lovely wet weather is heading your way. It starts leaving us today and then almost gone tomorrow.

Ahahaha! So cute, Kathleen. This post made me smile. That is a BIG bug!! We are still dry as dust here. We've had a couple very small rains, but our grass and everything is just brown and crunchy. At least it is supposed to be a little cooler today. I hope you enjoy your week!

Here in North Texas it has been hot but not as hot as the rest of the country or last year. So far has been bearable, but I'm sure the heat is coming. My begonias are beginning to dry up some and the petunias I cut way back. My fake/silk geranium hanging baskets on the patio are doing well though.

The heat hasn't hit us yet out here in CA, we are in the low 80's so far of course it could change any day. Hope it cools down some for you. Hugs...Lu

Kathleen, it's hot and humid here on the VA eastern shore. No critters like that one on the faucets. We keep cool by doing errands early (or late) and then staying indoors.

Here in the South Plains we are very dry and too hot! I am really ready for some rain. My tomatoes look terrible! I have not seen very many grasshoppers, but don't want them either!
Blessings!

Oh Kathleen,

That is so funny. Hope the weather cools down for everyone in the US.
It was 5 degrees when I went for my walk this morning. Very cool.

Happy days.

That would be funny if it weren't so close to the truth sometimes! We've actually been getting some rain here in Houston the past few days and mighty thankful for it! Hop you get some rain soon, too.

The many grasshoppers we have make me think of the Laura Ingalls Wilder stories; at least ours haven't come in clouds! Rain circles around us; we remain extremely dry and leaves have fallen so the woods look like Oct. instead of July.
