What lies behind us
and what lies before us
Are tiny matters compared to
What lies within us......
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have always loved the words from this man......ever since the first time I was introduced to him through his works in high school..............
Through out life, there has always been times that I worry about what lies ahead and then way to many times I look back and fret over what has happened............
so I try to stay focused on what my purpose is......deep within..........listening to what God is telling me...........not always hearing perhaps.............but still listening.
How about you?

I can really get myself in a wad when I start worrying about what lies ahead. My grandson told me one time, "You're always saying 'what if'". I guess it's my way of being prepared for the unexpected.

I so agree! Did you get caught in that huge dust storm?

Lovely little yellow flowers, Kathleen. I liked the verse with it too. It makes good sense. Have a nice weekend! :)

So true, Kathleen, and it's not always easy to hear that still, small voice, but we keep listening and ask forgiveness when we fail to hear.

Those are beautiful words to live by, Kathleen.
I'm not a worrier much, but I am a control freak at times... I have a hard time convincing myself that I can't change the world. *grin*

Kathleen, like you said sometimes it's hard not to worry and lately I have found myself doing that far more often than I feel i should. During this month-long road trips, i have been making some decisions on how to take better care of myself once we return home.

Hello Kathleen,

Some very wise words. Though sometimes we can't help worrying. We have to learn what happens to us usually happens for a reason.

Happy days.

So true about what Ralph Waldo Emerson had to say.

We are always looking for something great to happen (in future)

I love this quote. It's so true that we need to listen to the small, still voice speaking within us and not look back or forward. He's one of my favorite poets, too.
