I awaken to the sound

of the rooster crowing; telling me it's Sunday morning..................meaning that in just a few short hours, it will be Monday.............. and the beginning of a week full of hurry and hectic food orders, where somewhere in the crowd of hungry folks, there will be one grumpy, hungry, soul complaining that his steak was not out fast enough.................dreading........dreading.........
I push those thoughts away and ...........slowly..........on purpose.........I wander the grounds of Pleasant Prairie and dream about the farm I am hoping it will become. The cheerful morning glory are inviting me to linger in the cool of the morning
clinging their way in and out of the old antique fence.
I glance over, out across the yard to the splash of color that is calling to me...................
the zinnia garden.
I smile as I think of it now..................crisp, green, and full of zinnia showing off their colors in every hue.

There are bight cheery colors and soft pale colors.

I know that tomorrow morning I will be chopping, dicing, grilling and hurrying...................but in my heart and in my mind are these images of.................
peacefulness..................
How about you? During your busy day, what image pops into your mind to take you away from all stress and hurriedness life? Your children's or grandchildrens smile? Your soft and cuddly pet waiting to greet you when you return? I would love to hear!

When I worked, I kept my devotional book in my desk and took it to break with me. I hated being away from home from my family. Now that the kids are gone, I entertain the idea of going back to work!

Thank God for that day of rest! Especially for you Kathleen, your day seems to be one of hurry up and rush!.....
One day you will just have the chores of the family to attend to and give that will you more time to plant and smell your flowers, I promise... :o) Ginny

Your zinnia garden is so bright and cheery, Kathleen. I can see why it is a peaceful place for you to seek out. I would seek it out too. I hope you have a good week ahead.

Your zinnias are so pretty. Most of mine have given up in the heat and dry. It's just so hot, everything here is struggling to stay alive.

I work part time now so I get the best of both worlds - an admittedly small paycheck but sweet time with my husband - he is a very good man. Your new work is very demanding and such a change from the pace of your west Texas home.

I like to walk through the wild fields and collect seed. I find that walk very relaxing but my rest day is not necessarily on Sunday. Today I built a fence ;-)

Hi Kathleen,
It breaks my heart to hear the dread in your words. It was like that for me, too, when I worked. The only thing I could do was cry and pray. (Crying never helped, but praying did). I have jury duty in a couple of weeks and am dreading it. I hope I don't get assigned to a violent crime.
Anyway...
Your photos of your garden are so peacful and beautiful. I enjoyed them very much.

Your zinnia garden is a delight to behold!

I wish you didn't have to leave your beautiful little farm to go to work...

Your garden looks so peaceful ... I'm like you. I work at a job for the income ... I thank God each and every day that it is JUST part time and JUST for a few more years.
And what keeps making me go back?? is the thought of what my farm will look like, from all my dreadful days at work.
Wish I played the lottry! LoL .. Try to have a great week and just keep dreaming about your farm.

Remembering what you have to come home to, loved ones, beautiful flowers, needlework, blessings God has bestowed on you, all to remember while you work and share Him through your day.
