Outside..........Inside

Outside..............spring has brought the flowers to life.............and they are all showing off their cheery blossoms. The garden grounds lay bare, but underneath is a bounty of seeds that I have planted this week.................Inside of the greenhouse................
my newly sprouted plants have been eaten down, by a critter that looks much like this........I found this photo on the internet and just had to add the caption..............because the mice have really played havoc on my plants. I think mice are cute...........however...............as much as I dislike to.............I have had to terminate their visits to my greenhouse. I am hoping my methods have worked and that I can be planting in there by this coming week. What are your pests and what do they destroy? I would love to hear!

The only thing I have to watch for are predetors who want to eat my baby chicks...last year what ever it was sneaked into a tiny place and killed them. The cats take care of the mice and the dog keeps the bigger critters away. Good luck with all the planting! :D

Yuck!! We were lucky enough to have a kitten dropped off at our house who happened to be a great mouser! She's wild but she kills mice and moles. We got lucky.

That's interesting that the mice got into your plants though. I didn't think about them doing that!! They always eat the corn and chicken feed at our place, not the plants!

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLANT! I needed that jolt of color and to know that it really is blooming somewhere in the United States.

I am so sorry. It is just heartbreaking to work so hard and then have varmints eat up your plants! We have an ongoing battle with rats being attracted to all that appetizing food in the chicken yard. :(

Those flowers are lovely, Kathleen! What a pretty color! Sorry to hear about the mouse invasion. Hope they don't come back.

Moles in the yard and garden, my husband does what we call "the mole dance" as he steps down the trails they make...then he sets a trap.

Hey Kathleen - It's weird how such a cute little tiny creature can cause such destruction. Hope you took care of the matter and that the forays into your greenhouse are "terminated". Care to join in on the contest that Kathy B at Cedar Pond have engaged in? haha! Those purple flowers are beautiful!

Love the plant's blue color.

Our 5 barn cat-mousers usually leave us many bits and pieces of their finds (kills!) LOL.....

Good luck with the mouse project.

It's so nice to see the flowers blooming and signs of spring. I don't know what to do about the mice. They are such a problem. My black lab catches one sometimes when he's playing in the yard. Outside of that, I just don't know how to deal with them. I hope you have a blessed weekend.

We have so many pests! I hate the fire ants the worst! But, when we have a garden, I find the strangest creatures I've ever seen!

Wonderful that you can keep your sense of humour and post that mouse picture even though they've eaten your plants. Our cats have always taken care of mice for us...well, except the time they brought one inside while it was still alive.

This is such a cute post, and I am with you on exterminating those pesky mice, and or rats.

Thank you for visiting me, and taking the time to comment.

Those naughty mice.
I have had one in the house and found out because....
the granddaughters wanted me to get down (from the top of the frig) the Gingerbread house we made together so we could look at it and....The backside was eaten away...
naughty mouse.
We have a lot of rabbits around our neighborhood. They cause problems but since a fox moved in last year I have not seen many...oh dear...don't tell my Granddaughters what that means (o:

We are getting spring like weather here too, however, no flowers as of yet. Oh, yours are so pretty!

As for the mouse, I wonder, if he knows~ who left all those little piles of dirt across the front lawn.

Blessings, Mel

Sorry to hear of your mouse problem. It's always hard when you're trying to grow something, and these little free-loaders come by and take more than their share...no matter how cute they are. Right now, we're having problems with people's pet cats. They don't keep them in and these kitties come into my yard and spray my patio furniture, door, everything. I don't know what to do about it.

Beautiful color on that pretty plant..thanks for a look at Spring.
Maybe a cat around would be a good thing IF Sophie would let it be!
You like animals and one more mouth to feed won't be bad...Ginny

Yuck, I can't stand mice. Hopefully your next lot of seeds etc will grow. We have problems with ants here. They tend to take the seeds. Oh and we would love to have some rain!!! Happy days.

Oh yes, spring has come to your neck of the country and how! I agree, the little mice and even the moles we trap are cute ( I think ) , hey, I can even appreciate the intelligence and persistence of a rat now and then, but NOT if they destroy inordinate numbers of good plants and habitats and cause dangerous situations for so many other creatures, including us, the humans that care for the pesky little ones' habitat~

Happy planting!

Hi Kathleen, Wishing you a glorious Spring!

Kathleen, here in Kentucky I fight constantly with moles. I have tried the "wind-mills", blackberry branches in the holes, and other such remedies, but nothing has worked. I am determined now to find a couple barn cats to see if hopefully that will take care of the problem :)
