Spring.........inside

Outside, the wind is howling and banging anything and everything up against the house. The air is full of the smell of dirt from the nearby cotton fields, and the sky is a dusty orange. Typical west Texas weather.
Inside the tulips tell of another day, soon to come............crisp, fresh and full of color.
And as I look at their beauty, I listen to the whistling and banging outside the door, I can't wait for winter to pack her bags and leave.
How about you? Are you tired of cold, damp, blowing wind?

Not spring here yet, but soon, very soon now, it will be. I cannot put my tender veggies in the garden until June 1 but that doesn't keep me from starting their seeds, indoors, now. Hopeful.

Such a pretty picture of your tulips. I'm beginning to get daylily catalogs and cannot wait for Spring. Usually by April 15, we can safely plant outdoors here in GA. Your tulips make me yearn for bright Springtime, Easter, dogwood blossoms, and jonquils!

Certainly not spring here yet.. Its snowing right now.. And I kinda welcome it.. We have had very little this year and the Lakes and our pond will benefit from a bit of accumulation. I am warm & toasty and have projects to do. I do like the peaceful silence that comes with our snow today. On my blog I posted a comparison picture from yesterday & now.

Kathleen, I'm so ready for Winter to go, I'll pack up winter's bags for her and even buy her a train ticket to boot! HA! Love the tulips--so pretty!

I hate to wish my life away, but yes, Kathleen; I'm so tired of snow it's beginning to get to me and we have 2-3 more months of the possibility of more of it. I think I could take anything if there were a little sunshine, but these long dreary gray days are gettin' old really quick!
Check my new post if you get a chance; I need your help.

Winter is still here although we have had a warm spell. Warm enough to fool me into thinking I should get outside and begin gardening~ so I took my excitement and bought prim roses for porch arrangements because I know that if I actually do plant in the flower beds a frost will come the next day. Ha ha, as if the weather plans itself around foiling my plans!

Ready for winter to leave but not ready for the stinkin hot weather to return. I guess I don't like extremes on either side.

Pat (who loves tulips)

Spring feeling here - I got an amaryllis for a Christmas gift and it is growing in a pot on our windowsill but real outdoor gardening isn't far off now for North Texas - a little more rain for us (we like it more humid than you W. Texans!) and it'll be time!

I sure am, we had rain this weekend and it washed most of the snow away, except little patches, which my grandmother always said are just left there to greet more snow. But you know, I think I see just a little green stuff here and there, maybe just wishful thinking.

Kathleen,
Those tulips are just gorgeous! Tulips are my favorite flower - my very favorite!

I love winter, second only to fall for me. So I don't really wish for it to make a hasty exit, but I DO understand your feelings as well. I just dislike (with a MAJOR passion) summer and our springtime is so short, that I relish this cool weather.

I hope that you can enjoy this weather, too. Snuggle up with your hubby and your little sweeties and enjoy some hot cocoa.
Oh, how I wish that you could enjoy the winter, too!

Blessings,
Julie

Beautiful tulips indeed, a lovely harbinger of spring!

Yesterday it poured all day, typical for us, but today we are back to our sunny weather that we have been enjoying more than we usually do. So a few more blogs to read (I'm trying to not get so far behind again) and then out I go to do some more early gardening!

Hope your wind calms down and quits throwing things at you!

As I walked my little dog this morning I saw the daffodils springing up from the cold earth. The promise of Spring is showing! I can hardly wait for the real thing!! Having a few fresh flowers around help. Make a sweet cup of tea...and join me!
