Thank You!

I want to say, thank you, all dear blogging friends for your words of comfort in losing my pet Hercules. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! One good thing about farm living....... one doesn't have much time to stay in sadness too long.........there is so much to do.
There is always something to design and embroider...............
come visit my embroidery blog...http://yesteryearembroideries.blogspot.com
The pumpkins are getting ready to harvest............

The zinnia garden is full of blossoms..........

and the sun flowers beckon me to cheer up.

The garden is producing and my hands are busy in the kitchen.

And as you all know by now......there is always something interesting popping up for me to discover. I came upon this unique mushroom in the thick of the woods. It is rather large.

Of course...................there is always someone who needs my attention.

It's official.......I counted the baby goldfish, rescued from the pond before the adults discovered them...........there are 67! Well......there were....I have been losing a few here and there. Taking care of baby goldfish is not as easy as I anticipated. The larger they grow, the more oxygen they take up.............I researched that one goldfish needs 10 gallons of water.....which is now making me find more containers to separate and place them all in. I have a very dear friend who has been finding a lot of folks who are glad to take some off of my hands......so, if they make it long enough, the little fish will soon have good homes to go to.

This time of year, the trees on the grounds are covered in migrating butterflies. They are everywhere! Such a wonderful thing to see.In no time...they will be gone.

And as I sit and watch them flutter from the porch........I reflect on Hercules....and how fragile and precious life is. It has made me enjoy every moment I am having..........
what life gives...........and quickly takes away.

Your story about Hercules is hard. And, life on a farm is so wonderful but the realities of life have more opportunity to show. You know how to appreciate life and care! That is a gift. Thanks for writing from you heart. There is a bunny heaven!!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better... I know you still miss him terribly, but thankfully you have so much to keep busy and enjoy!

It just hit me...that's why people like you and me appreciate every little thing ( think tiny goldfish)...It's because we are like the butterflys...beautiful yes...but most importantly.... here today gone tomorrow. Life is fleeting. Keep enjoying every little thing you can. Loved the pictures.

(o: My word verification is JOYST. nice word if it were a word.

I loved this post, bless your heart. Those beautiful sunflowers remind me of a saying that I love..."Be like the sunflowers, who always keep their faces looking toward the Sun." (i take that to mean toward the Son of God, if I keep my eyes on him, things just seem to go well)
Take care, and thanks for the kind words :D

beautiful reflections of your heart Kathleen - definitely a challenge keeping those tiny goldfish alive! We had some hatched and grew up in our goat trough - finally got a few big enough to move into a separate trough. I think ours survived because we have a broken cinder block in the tank for the fish to hide from visitors like herons and raccoons!

We have found, fed, and watch them until they hatch, Monarch Butterflies, when our kids were little. It is an amazing thing to be a part of, I'm sure the migration is just as amazing! I so enjoy your talent of embroider. Sorry about your bunny.

Isn't it amazing, when we lose a person or pet that we love dearly we are so surprised the world goes on as before. But life does go on and the every day obligations turn into the every day joys and pleasures . Life is beautiful there Kathleen, as is your embroidery.

The goldfish are so cute!

I can't believe you sat there and counted 67 goldfish! What patience! Great pictures.

Those sunflowers would cheer me up too! I love finding mushrooms! I had no idea that goldfish needed that much room. You usually see several in a 10 gallon tank.

Kathleen,
Living on the farm must be a lot of work, but what a beautiful place. I love all the photos and your embroidery is so nice. The photo of the migrating butterflies is outstanding. I can just imagine how peaceful it is to watch the butterfies, look at the beautiful zinnias and sunflowers and fix green beans on the front porch. You are so blessed to live on a farm. Have a wonderful weekend.

Kathleen, as always I love your photos. I especially like the butterflies! How neat that would be to see so many of them at once together like that. Wishing you a good weekend.
