I Am A Ailurophile!

That's right... I just discovered that I am a ailurophile...pronounced uh-lur-uh-fail.
While visiting other wonderful blogs, I ran upon an interesting book/dictionary...of 100 Most Beautiful Words In English by Dr. Goodword (Robert Beard). He offers the description of 100 different wonderful words and the first 4 have free, more of a description to click on....... and he has this wonderful book for sale.....which I want!
Just what is an ailurophile?? Well, I am sure you will soon guess.
I love their eyes, their face, their sweet nose and whiskers....
I love their long slinky tails......

I love they way they stretch out in the longest ways in their sleep.....

and how they can make any spot look so comfortable for a nap....

and how they claim a certain spot.....theirs...till eternity.....

Just look.....how can I not be an ailurophile???

I think I will always be!
Ailurophile.... A cat lover.
Now, let's all have some fun....go to Dr. Goodword's site...here's the link...
and find one of the words he has listed that best describes you.Come back and let me know what you are!! You will certainly find many out of the 100......... I can't wait to hear!

That ended up being time consuming. Like a homework assignment (o: I found words I like to discribe other people...especially my Granddaughters, but hard to pick one for me. I went with Inglenook-a cozy nook by the hearth....because that is what i would like to be for my family.
Help needed with cats. How can I keep my cat from shedding so much. She hates to be brushed...hair everywhere 9o:

ME?...I am the SAME as you! I LOVE my cats..they are such characters! I enjoy them everyday. The one that came to my door, starving, is quite the little stinker..if I walk past her when she wants my attention, she reaches out and gives me a ever so sot little bite! Oh, i could go on and on.... :D

i have to send this post to my daughter...who is also an ailurophile.

well, let me see.... This was interesting, and entertaining, too.

I don't know if I think it describes me, but maybe one of my traits - 'serendipity' - an unexpected discovery. I'm always looking at details (maybe it's being an artist or something), but I find myself looking past the obvious. Yesterday, for example, I was squatted down looking at some broken glass and rocks intently trying to piece together an old pottery plate, and saw for the first time ever -

AN ALBINO EARWIG !!!

I've never seen one before! I love surprises like that! It happens all the time. That was fun, Kathleen!

Well Kathleen dear, I would love to do my own blog about this - you have set my mind spinning.
This is what I found: Harbinger Messenger with news of the future.
In teaching Bible lessons, I will call myself a harbinger because I am a messanger with news of the future! How neat. Thanks for the link!

I am too! I have always marveled at a cat's ability to make a hard cold surface look comfortable.

Ok, there are so many lovely words but this is what stopped me..

Gossamer....
The finest piece of thread, a spider's silk.

I love the feel of all the different kinds of thread and I love to hand sew with them.

Thanks for such a great post....now I'm headed back over there to read more. :0)

Hugs, Steph

PS...thanks so much for checking on me last week..it's so nice to have such wonderful cyber friends.

That was wonderful, Kathleen! I loved seeing all the pictures.

I went to the sight and looked through those wonderful words... I would love to think I was "Lissome" (slender and graceful) but the mirror tells me otherwise! *LOL*

I'll have to check out that link. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cat pictures. They do seem to find a place to nap just about anywhere! No cats at my house, but a doggie who still looks like a puppy even though she's quite an old "lady".

Many sweet blessings!

Thanks for including the pronuctiation!!!

I looked but couldn't really find anything that fits me - it was fun though!

I'm so sorry to read about your sweet Hercules. I am so, so sorry.

Palimpsest- written over other manuscripts. I seem to be a result of not only my own thoughts and experiences, but also built on the history of my parents and ancestors and those who've gone before me.

Very interesting post and fun. Love that list of words.
