Spring bunnies, spring chicks, spring break

Well.....my last post kind of scared everyone, ....sorry, ... I get lost in my own little insect world.... so I decided to show something pleasant, soft and furry, and yes......cuddly.
Much needed rain has come our way for the past few days....great for outdoor work.
Spring break has arrived, which means I will be away from the computer for a week, probably working out in the new flower garden I have been planning. This is stalk flower. It grows very thick and tall and can be used as a "natural" fence or border. It smells wonderful in the spring. I am planting it along the border of my flower garden.
There is a space between the stalk flower which is perfect for my garden entrance. So I am working on a stone path since the ground is soft from the rain.

Sophie has given her approval.

As you can see, the garden is quite large, and for now quite bare. Hopefully by summer, Zinnia, cosmos, and rose bushes will be in bloom here.

It's that time of year again, all logic leaves my head and I just have to bring home spring babies! Hercules, I think, might like to have a girlfriend, so I am thinking about trying to find a little fluffy bunny and maybe start raising rabbits again. I did this in town and had many bunnies for sale. I sold them all within a week. The farm supply store owner told me yesterday that if I did decide to do this......he would buy my bunnies! Temptation around every corner!

The farm supply store that I love to hang out in,has just let me know that baby ducks and baby chicks will be in this week!

How can I resist? I was just talking with a friend a couple of days ago about all of the reasons I did not need to get more babies, and here I go again. So by next week, I may have pictures of my own sweet fluffs to show. Thank you to all who stop by to visit and leave a comment. I will be dropping by to visit you when the week is over. Now, my question to you..... what fluffy baby do you find irresistible? Baby lambs or goats? Cheeping chicks? Waddling ducks? I can't wait to hear!

West Texas friend - I have some Golden Comet pullets on order at our local feed store -was so tempted to get some australorps (love those black feathers) but wanted to stick with sex linked chicks so we wouldn't get a rooster in the hen house. You know I love my baby goats. Springtime is such a heart lightening time - we look forward to the celebration of His resurrection and the whole earth seems to wake up too. We've been very cold and a little rain - so no gardening and my wonderful seedlings are all droopy from lack of sunshine - aargh! Tomorrow should be better - looking forward to your next baby announcements (bunnies are SO adorable!)

Kathleen, I'm glad you got some rain and I guess it came just in time..all the planting for your gardens...I can't wait to see the results..I had a chance to get some free rabbits..but caring for them on my "almost an acre" would have been a little too much...I had no way of protecting them from the wild life we have around...I think your cuddly chicks are my favorite :o)...Ginny

Kathleen...I love all things fluffy!!!! Though I love the sweet little chicks and bunnies, I am a sucker for PUPPIES!!!! We have had 2 liters in the last 5 years (everyone is fixed now, so no more puppies) and as soon as the mamas had them all cleaned up I was in their cute little puppy faces. I love to watch as their little personalities develop as they grow....I miss having puppies but 3 dogs is more that enough for this home. I can't wait to see you garden creation!!!

I got my chicks ordered last week. We are getting them on May 6th. The kids and I can hardly wait! Yes, chicks and bunnies are definitely more appealing than that big spider you had on your last post! ha ha

Oh Bet would say that your last post's main character was just as smoochie as anything. she use to cry when people smashed spiders. Now she just purses her lips and walks away in disappointment, to many smashings by one person and they get written off.

As with anything, if I try to come up with a favorite, five more things come in to my brain for consideration and then I am all a muddle. Just the other day I found another salamander and just watched for the longest time, was very fond of it, coochie cooed it and then found a safe place for him to go live.

Sounds as though you are going to have a very busy time, but wonderful. I look forward to see how your garden turns out and seeing all the new babies and how they get on.

I love the bunnies, biddies, and baby ducks. Oh so cute! And the goats are cute too! I, too, have serious issues with wanting baby animals! Especially the chicks, that is what usually gets me!

I noticed some of your landscapes looked familiar; I was born in Midland, spent 40 years of my life there before relocating to Illinois 15 years ago. My family, and a big piece of my heart, are still there. Just wanted to say Hi.

If I had it my way, I would have some of all! As a matter of fact, I went to the local Feed and Seed yesterday and eventhough I already have baby chicks, when I found out they are expecting a shippment of Araucanas next week, I decided right then that I must have some more:-) I guess we will be raising our new little biddies together.

Hope you enjoy your Spring Break.

I find ALL babies irresistible! Thankfully each time I've been to the local feed store this week, they've been running low on baby chicks or else I'd probably already have a couple by now!!!

I love the stone walk-way.

HI Kathleen, I find it hard to resist any farm animal, but I am a small animal person so I have(?) finally decided to give up the goats and stick with having chicken and rabbits. We also have a herd of Hereford beef cows ( My hubby's interest) and their babies are really sweet... for about the first 2 weeks. LOL.

I'm a sucker for any babies, really. But I've got a hankerin' for chicks right now, probably cuz my hubby says no. But when we move out to the farm, it's a go!
