A Little Birdy Told Me So

Over the past few weeks, a male Cardinal has been flying up against a window of our dining room. I am always thrilled to see the birds visit, and thought he just accidentally flew into the window....but no,
He flies up to the window, pecks and then lands on the branch as if in deep thought. (I really know he sees his reflection and is charging his competition),...however, what is he really trying to tell me......
That there are still butterflies in the backyard and they need to move on before the weather gets too cold?.....

No, not that he seems to say.....

Is pesky old Tuff terrorizing him and all of the other little birds at the feeder?....

"(unh,uh, "says, Tuff, " I swear, I have not been even looking at the little birds...can't you tell by my innocent face?)"

Well, yes, Tuff has been a pest, but that is still not what he is trying to tell me....

Oh,...... I know...... even the trees , the cactus, and the other prairie growth is decked out in red and green for the holidays, and I haven't even started decorating for the Christamas season yet!!

Finally!!! Even the Cardinal is dressed in his best red.... and here I sit, not one holly branch pulled out of storage.... . I need to get busy, I know! A little birdy told me so!! {:

It's funny you posted about this because I just posted about my Christmas decorations. There will probably be alot of that going on in blogworld in the next couple of days I bet!

How wonderful to have a cardinal outside your widow! That's neat. Good looking fat little thing too. Although I guess he is puffed up against the cold. Cool bird!

Cute story ! You know two years ago I had a Chickadee that kept at the windows and I thought along the same lines as you. But the chickadee began appearing at every window where he saw me. I tested it out and went from room to room and upstairs and eventually he would find me at keep fluttering on and off the teeny little lip of the windows. He came back the next year for a few days , haven't seen him since. I still wonder what he was really doing !

You get Cardinals ! I loved seeing them when I lived in Virginia....

Funny bird! Who knew he had so much going on in his head. You're not alone though, I've thought about decorating, but that's as far as I've got! Guess we both need to get to it.

Very cute post about geting on with decorating! Ssshhh don't tell my girls!

We have a couple of birds that knock on the two windows where we sit most of the time and we quickly figured out that they were telling us that their feeder was empty, or at least empty of what they considered was their tasty treat!

Birds are pretty stinking smart!

If that little bird starts making a mess, buy a fake snake and put it on the window sill, he will soon disappear. I know someone that had to do that.....Ginny

What a fun story, Kathleen. Nice to have a little reminder. I haven't started yet either. Maybe this weekend I'll get on it. This post made me smile. I so enjoy your sense of humor. Have a great day! :D
