The gentle side of life

Hi everyone, I hope this finds that all of you had a wonderful holiday weekend! We had a wonderful, somewhat quiet weekend. We grilled outside, had our own miniature firework show late in the night, and caught a movie. As I stated in my last post, I found a more gentle side of life to capture on camera instead of the creepy and crawly. However, there are still plenty of them!{:
The little goldfish we placed in the "dish" pond are doing well. They seem to be shy, but I was able to catch one's photo during feeding time.
Also, the frogs have found the pond and seem to enjoy floating around, until they see me and then they dive to the bottom.
I just love the way butterflies cluster together and fly around. I was able to catch this one being still on the wild daisies that grow on the grounds. I just love it's color.
Baby lizards seem to be every where this time of year. Although he looks quite big, he is only about an inch and a half long. Such a cutie.

I am always amazed to find such intricate design and color in the insect world. This rainbow colored grasshopper was hiding in my potted plant.

This poor little dove was floating in our pond, barely alive. Apparently, he was trying to get a drink, and fell in. When I fished him out, he was ice cold and gasping. I have him currently wrapped in warm towels and he has quit gasping, however, I am not sure if he will make it through the night. If he does, he can be released back into the wild. I will let you know as the weeks goes on.

It's so much fun seeing your pond coming to life!

I hope the dove pulls through OK.

What sweet pictures! I adore frogs (but in small quantities -- NOT like Biblical plagues or anything!!!)
I'm so glad you were able to save the bird -- we've lost a couple, but our daughter has saved a few, this summer!
Thank you so much for your words of support -- you just don't know what they meant to me. And I hear you about feeling like your street was growling at you. I think of that all the time.
Even though we're not moving to that big "would be farm" we feel blessed to be moving to the country. It's just MUCH smaller scale -- but we know it's for the best. We really feel it's God's plan! How could that be wrong?
Again, Thank You!
Blessings,
Julie

Girl you amaze me with your keen eye. The insect and the butterfly were great pictures. I do love the pond, and could envy you there. I am interested in the bird. I hope it lives.

Blessings. Doris

Wonderful pictures - sorry about the doves' misadventure - they should be able to get OUT of water though - it might have had something else wrong also. Funny how something as destructive as a grasshopper can have such beautiful design. You do catch God's creations with your camera.

My sister used to do bird rescue. We really got attached to some of those little birdies. Good luck with it! Vickie

We love lizards. We had a bearded dragon for 8 years and a veiled chamelon now. Plus a koi pond.
Love your pictures!
