It's junk, it's a satellite, it's a .......pond??

Remember those large disks that were the first satellites? We have had one sitting out on our property for the longest time. It was here when we moved in. I have always wanted my sweetie to get rid of it, as to me, it is an eye sore. However, my sweetie is a resourceful and creative man, and said it would make a great pond......I had my doubts.{:
This past week, with the help of our youngest son, he set out to show me what he had in mind. I have to say I was still doubtful.{:
After days of both of them digging, they finally got it into place. Now he plans to seal the hole in the middle and get pond liner and fill it up. As to keeping it clean and fresh, he has that all planned out as well. I will learn more as I watch. He has been eyeing my rocks that I am planning for the path around the greenhouse. He says they would be perfect around the rim of the pond. So because he is such a sweetie, I guess the little path to the door is enough for me and I will just figure out something else. There will be pond pictures I hope if his plans work out! I think I am less doubtful now!{:

That's pretty cool - I'd sacrifice some of my garden rocks for a pond any day! I completely giggled when I heard your rocks conundrum - I recently went hunting around our backyard digging up rocks and carrying them for a border. Of course I didn't have enough. Happy pond!

That is so clever! Why don't I ever think of things like that? I can hardly wait to see the results.

What a neat idea. I see those big things laying around folks houses-you could start a real fad.

Oh dear friend - I wish you were nearby because I could share a big chunk of pink waterlily out of my little pond. You'll enjoy a pond so much - as will the bazillion critters who'll be drawn by the water. Your DH is a smart fellow - those satellite dishes make nice shallow ponds.

Kathleen your pond will be SO easy - I got my gorgeous waterlily at a fancy garden decor store -- Home Depot! But also had one from WalMart - don't spend a lot of money and do buy a bottle of the pond flower fertilizer tabs. www.texaswaterlilies.com has a lot of good information. How fun!

Can't wait to see it finished. I love taking junk and making something out of it. This is a great idea.

You have a lot going on, I can't decide which blog to leave a comment on. Love the cookie and cake recipe. Hugs, RoseMarie

I admire his resourcefulness. I never would have thought of that...like you I'd be wanting to get rid of it. I'll be checking back on the progress to see what happens.
